The author of this article is Ms. Zhou Jiashu. I would like to thank you for your permission to publish it on the website “Vista School”.

After taking these two lessons of Mr. Vista’s “[Practical Practice on Media Communication and Press Release Writing] (https://www.tiandiren.tw/archives/30161)” training course, I felt like I had just drank a pot of warm verbena tea. While enjoying the sweetness and moistness, the bursts of herbal smells seem to remind you that you must make nourishment into a habit carefully in order to implement the nourishment of this pot of tea!

I initially decided to take the “Practical Practice of Media Communication and Press Release Writing” training course because I found out a while ago that I have a passion for “Content Marketing” (https://www.vistacheng.com/nsysu-content-marketing), Social Marketing After being very interested, I typed the keyword “How to enter the marketing world without experience” online, and came to the conclusion of “write a blog, shoot a video to practice business content, and even set up a fan page to touch the front and backend”. After I came to this conclusion, I began to plan the direction of the fan page and prepare the content. I flipped through a large box of second-hand marketing-related books that I got. I wanted to think about it and understand “words” from multiple dimensions!

So I signed up for a screenwriting class, a copywriting class, and a news writing class that just ended. Although they are all short introductory courses, I believe that these text courses, which are quite different in nature, can be connected from dots to dots in the future, whether it is my dream of becoming an Internet celebrity or my dream of working full-time in marketing.

Before taking the class, I had two imaginations about “press release writing”. One was like interviews with people that often appeared in magazines, and the other was concise and concise real-time news. Also because the latter rarely has prose-like rhetoric, and because the script still requires a lot of creativity in addition to routines, my original imagination of news writing was very weak, and I even had a mentality of: “Okay, I’ll come and see how difficult it is!”

The course started with an interaction between company and media practitioners. Perhaps because I had no experience in this and was mostly in the “mentality” of dealing with the media, I was a little indifferent at first.

Gradually, when the course progressed to “the structure and writing elements of a press release”, I was still at the stage of “it shouldn’t be too difficult, right?” Unexpectedly, when the course progressed to “Press Release Verification and Communication Tasks,” I began to feel that something was not right. When the teacher asked us to practice writing press releases with the Rakuten merger example, my mind went blank, and then I realized again:

There is really no easy way in life. Behind every seemingly concise press release is the accumulation of unremitting practice and a deep foundation.

The more concise and concise the words are, the more it tests the skill of logic and word consideration.

As for homework, I feel that it is really not easy to write a report about the Universiade App. A lot of news on the Internet is similar. As I was writing, I was thinking about it. How perseverant are the reporters who won the Pulitzer Prize in seeking evidence to qualify for this honor? How do the White House reporters in political dramas negotiate with officials and other media to get first-hand information? After thinking about it in my head, I actually wrote the press release for the Universiade App. But after all, I am a layman, and I thought I had written something well, but I still forgot the most important news headline. Hahahaha, it can be seen that people always have blind spots.

I have read in a book that after an article or a period of work is completed, you might as well ask others to read it, even others with a lower level of knowledge. Because sometimes “correcting errors” is about reducing the contradictions that our brains are used to the frequency of our own works and ignore them, which really makes sense.

In these two classes, I have two favorite moments, and they are also the moments where I am most grateful to the teacher.

The first one is when the teacher asks everyone why they came to take this class. Because my value is: “Everything is good, but why you do it is the most important.” Knowing the students’ expectations for the class before class not only helps the communication between teachers and students, but also allows the teacher to have a good idea and be closer to the needs of the students in the given knowledge. I think this question is very important. Only serious teachers will ask it. It is also something I want to do before I have the opportunity to stand on the stage and share my knowledge.

The second one is that the teacher wants us to discuss in groups. After all, there are only two classes. Taiwanese people are shy by nature and tend not to take the initiative to talk to others. Group discussions not only allow us to understand each other’s perspectives, but also enjoy the pleasure of “ accomplishing something together ”. Although the results of our discussion were not professional, the teacher was still able to see the creativity and advantages of each group. It reminded me that the teacher had the same attitude when announcing each of our press release assignments. They never deny the questions we asked and the assignments we handed in, but encourage us and truly see what we have done well. Even if we propose improvements, we are always friendly. Such patience and cultivation are so admirable!

I am very grateful to the teacher for letting me understand the introductory press release writing methods. Although I do not intend to become a reporter, I believe that as my own knowledge system becomes more and more mature, what I have learned now will definitely come in handy. Whether it is job hunting or running my own fan shop, it will definitely be of great help! I am also grateful to the teacher for reminding me that no skill is easy. It is difficult to write a novel that is full of imagination, but it is also difficult to find out the taste of TA (target audience) in a concise way, faithfully convey information, and always have a spirit of inquiry!

Thank you teacher! I sincerely hope to have the opportunity to ask the teacher for more valuable experience in the future!
