I am very happy to have the opportunity to read this new book by Japanese best-selling author Katsuhiro Motoyama, “[Deliberate self-study that turns reading into a “high-return investment”: “Combined academic reading” can turn around a helpless life, and have 10 million yuan and 10 pots of gold at the age of 40] (https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/0010797461? utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201808)”, the interesting thing is that the content of this book is not only very consistent with my past learning experience, but also a lot of familiarity arises when reading, so I read the whole book very quickly!
I think this is not only because I have been a corporate consultant and lecturer for many years, and I have the opportunity to share and promote various concepts and methods related to the workplace, learning, and life to the public. It also has a lot to do with my encouragement over the years during the teaching process that everyone should write more blogs to express their opinions in this community era.
As the author Katsuhiro Motoyama said, learning requires not only the input program to remember knowledge, but also the output program to actually write and speak what you have learned repeatedly, so that you can truly remember what you have learned. Writing a blog is a basic tool to expand your personal vision and worldview. The focus is on strengthening your ability to extract experience and transform perspectives in the process from input to output.
And this argument also reminds me of what the Japanese potential coach Ikuta Chihisa said in “[Mediocre people copy notes fiercely, talented people diligently write down their experiences: Six forces that can transform oneself in twenty-four hours](https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/0010528202?utm _source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201808)” mentioned in the book, “In fact, the most important thing is to use information. Follow the rule of “input 20%, output 80%”, and writing down your experience diligently is the way to go!”
Now, whether I am studying or working, I have already switched from a simple input mode to an output mode. I always take action first. Even if you encounter a big problem, you must break it down into several small tasks. Just as Masayoshi Son, the founder of Software Bank, taught us, we must turn a goal that no one believes in into a successful career, and never underestimate small successes in anything we do.
Being able to take into account both input and output (https://www.notetaking.club/2018/04/input-vs-output.html) is naturally the best, and multiple extractions and outputs are naturally better than “only input and no output”. Recently, there happened to be an example to prove it.
I used to worry about my poor English foundation. I was always worried that the English sentences I wrote would have grammatical flaws, or that I couldn’t understand what foreigners were saying. But recently I broke through this myth and began to force myself to listen, speak, write, and read everything. I even communicated directly in English with foreign friends I met on Facebook.
Although I am still worried about my broken English and often get stuck, I feel a little happy when my foreign friend says that she can understand my English. Learning a language is naturally a long road, but now I understand the essentials of learning and the importance of action. In short, don’t be afraid, just listen more, speak more, write more and read more!
This book The author proposes a three-stage discussion of self-study, which is refreshing. I also believe that if you can follow this system and study deliberately, you will definitely gain a lot! If you also want to realize your lifelong dream, I am happy to recommend this good book. Well, let’s learn together the right way!
