まろ’s writing classroom: [Midterm exam] Special event for writing homework and giving away novels
The author of this article まろ is the author of the light novel “Southern Cross”. He hopes to use his own experience to help more friends write good stories. Thank you for authorizing the “Content Hacker” website to reprint it. Thank you hereby.
Recently, netizens have been asking me about “how to write good novels”. Therefore, I organized my experience in writing light novels into 34 themes, divided into three stages: [Preparation Assignment], [Plot Process] and [Writing Management].
Whether you want to write a novel, a biography, or a business history, these articles can help. No matter what your writing level is, I will guide you through the two stages of [preparation] and [plot flow] to complete a piece of work, so start right away!
That’s right, it’s really a midterm exam this time, not an illusion.
Why take midterm exam? Well, there’s a saying that goes, “Easier said than done.” Even if you start from the second lesson and read all the way till now, if you don’t have any practical experience, you won’t make any progress. Starting from [Plot Process], we will not review the content of [Preparation Assignment], because the former contains more content.
I’m not kidding you, the curriculum of [Plot Process] is from lessons 7 to 21, including: [Prologue], [Minimum Plot Unit], [Plot Rhythm], [Emotion of Scene], [Purpose of Passers-by], [Foreshadowing], [Triggering Event], [Shaking of Protagonist’s Belief], [Road to Rebirth], [Prologue to Rebirth], [Solution of Appearance Problem], [Complete Destruction of Belief], [Rebirth], [Solution to Final Problem], [Suspense]
Wait! Don’t rush out of the door!
Although there are as many as 15 lessons, it may seem scary, but as long as you continue to study step by step, you will definitely learn it. So, before I take out the test paper, go to “まろ’s writing classroom tag” to see if you missed a certain class. There will be no exams for Lesson 5 (Part 1) and Lesson 6 (Part 2). If you are interested, just read it.
Don’t worry, the exam is easy. As long as you submit your paper to maro.huang@hukaka.com, I will give you some constructive suggestions and prizes based on the answer items:
The first is the [Behavior Pattern] question. The following archaeological questions are mentioned in [Lesson 3: Character Setting (Part 2) Character Interaction], the [Behavior Pattern] of “Slam Dunk”:

Whether it’s referencing someone else’s work, or your own original work. As long as you complete the [Behavior Pattern] chart above, you will get three exquisite postcards of [“Southern Cross”] (https://www.books.com.tw/products/0010776359) below, with 10 quotas. (Given randomly)

Then, if you have completed the [Behavior Pattern] chart and also written out the basic character setting, world view and context of [Lesson 5: Elements and World View (Part 2) Common Elements and Context], the following is an example from “Mobile Police”:
Due to the large demand for construction, machines such as Strange Hands are not enough. Therefore, people intuitively think that if people are enlarged, the problem of machine power and versatility can be solved.
When humanoid construction robots became mainstream, their powerful strength and mobility caused problems. Although it does increase the speed of building construction, it also creates the destruction of workers using robots to fight, which puts people in a dilemma. Therefore, the police must set up a special department to deal with robot fighting incidents, so the unit the protagonist group serves [Special Vehicle Section 2] was established.
In the beginning, the special vehicle department did deal with conflicts among construction workers, but soon various social dissidents also saw the potential of robots to destroy and began to use robots to carry out protests and other sabotage actions. Some people have even obtained military robots, whose performance in some aspects is better than the robots in the special vehicle department. This is a major foreshadowing, foretelling that robots will become more powerful enemies in the future.
As expected, the performance of the special vehicle department attracted the security unit of the International Military and Arms Company, and in the name of experiment, they used military robots to challenge the robots of the special vehicle department. In the end, the extremists with powerful robots were not controlled by the company and became real terrorists, launching a decisive battle with the police.
As long as you include the answers to these two questions when you submit your paper, you will get 14 small posters from “Southern Cross” Season 1, with 5 places available.

The easiest way to confirm a teacher’s ability is to look at his works, right?
Finally, I’ll give you a practical tip. If you are worried that the story setting you finally came up with will be plagiarized, you can make a simple certificate letter. Please print three copies of your work information and put each into an envelope. Then send it from your home to the company (or vice versa), using registered mail to make sure someone signs for it. On the back of the envelope, there is information about which work the letter is from.
Please be sure to send it by registered mail and have it stamped by the post office. If a plagiarism lawsuit does occur, you can open the envelope as evidence in court and claim that you have completed the settings in the letter when the postmark date came.
Well, I’m looking forward to your letter. Next time it will be a special one “Want to write a story?” Or want to try story marketing? [Writing Classroom] The column is your good partner! 》(Click to read) will give you a bird’s-eye view of the entire column, let’s create together!
