Step out of your comfort zone and challenge more diverse writing styles and styles
Thanks to everyone’s support, “Vista Writing Companion Program” has been successfully launched for 15 sessions so far! Previously, I corrected the works of several partners in one go. The topics ranged from work results, life notes, medical knowledge to parent-child travel notes. It can be said to be all-inclusive and everything you need!
Findings after correcting assignments
After reading the homework of these partners, I unexpectedly discovered some common phenomena and had some feelings in my heart, so I took the opportunity of writing an article to share with you:
At first glance, the partners who will sign up for the “Vista Writing Companion Program” may be a group of people who are not confident in writing, or who want to improve their writing skills, right? In fact, when I carefully examined the works submitted by these partners, I unexpectedly found that except for some small details that were not taken into account (such as subscripts that are not ideal, [the use of punctuation marks](https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/001 0801802?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201904) There is still room for improvement…), in fact, everyone’s writing is not bad!
However, I also understand that some of my colleagues’ writing stays in their own comfort zone and uses their own familiar writing methods to construct articles. Of course there is nothing wrong with this, but I hope to help all partners who participate in the “Vista Writing Companion Program” to improve their writing skills to another level.
Try different writing perspectives
For example, when writing travel or food notes, can you not just describe how fun a certain facility is? Which restaurant is more delicious? Can you first listen to your inner voice and try to start from a different perspective? Rather than describing some unimportant details in vague words, as a reader—in fact, I want to know the unique perspective of each creator.
Another example is when sharing the professional knowledge you are good at, can you give some more practical cases? Or even add some charts to the article? Or, you can use storytelling to express it.
The power of storytelling
──It is true that everyone likes to listen to stories, but have you ever thought about why?
Psychologists believe that telling stories can strengthen cognition, integrating oneself into the surroundings, designing various countermeasures, and coping with changing environments; while people who listen to stories can understand others, explore their innermost feelings, learn from experiences, and then resonate.
Today, I would like to use this article to encourage everyone to bravely step out of their comfort zones and challenge more diverse and layered writing styles and styles!
The article is not just written and then handed over. The important thing is to be able to communicate and stimulate resonance. Someone said: “The real world is actually outside the comfort zone.” Well, I also agree with this view.
Don’t use being embarrassed or poor writing skills as excuses. Please believe in yourself. Everyone has unlimited potential. Maybe you’re feeling intimidated, or doubtful of your own work…well, don’t worry! Please let me accompany you on your journey of writing!
