I don’t know when it started, maybe it was after my horizons were gradually opened that I could truly realize that life does not need to stick to forms or be tied down by anything external.

Think about it, the same goes for reading. Everyone has their own preferred way of reading. Some people need to read without interruption, while others like to read on the sofa at home, sipping coffee and reading at the same time.

To be fair, I think my reading speed is not slow, and the amount of reading is quite considerable. I have shared some reading methods in the TeSA Morning Reading Meeting before. Today I want to talk to you about the ritual and rhythm of reading. If it is something you do occasionally, you may not need to pay attention to what psychologists call “rituals”, but if you want to invest in the long term, you may want to quickly enter the “state of longing” (http://blog.planism.com/archives /2009/02/10/2041/%E4%BD%A0%E9%80%B2%E5%85%A5-flow-status-%E7%A5%9E%E9%A 6%B3%E7%8B%80%E6%85%8B-%E4%BA%86%E5%97%8E%EF%BC%9F), then you might as well try to establish a ritual and rhythm that suits you.

I have long forgotten when I started to have a ritual that makes me feel comfortable when reading, and the same seems to be true for writing. Now, no matter where I am, whether it is an office, a coffee shop or a 7-11, I can open my iPad and enter the world of a book at leisure. And as long as I open my MacBook Air, I can start writing immediately, as naturally as turning on a faucet.

In addition to not relying on inspiration, I am more likely to find a comfortable rhythm and rhythm in constant accumulation.

I still remember that on January 17, 2015, I went to visit Junkudang Bookstore. At that time, I happened to find a book about “[The Technique of Reading Books]” (https://www.amazon.co.jp/%E8%AA%AD%E6%9B%B8%E3%81%AE%E6%8 A%80%E6%B3%95-%E8%AA%B0%E3%81%A7%E3%82%82%E6%9C%AC%E7%89%A9%E3%81%AE%E7%9F%A5%E8%AD%98%E3%81%8C%E8 %BA%AB%E3%81%AB%E3%81%A4%E3%81%8F%E7%86%9F%E8%AA%AD%E8%A1%93%E3%83%BB%E9%80%9F%E8%AA%AD%E8%A1%93%E I was deeply impressed by the books written by The Japanese author Yu Sato talked about his reading method and thought it was very suitable for reference by some friends preparing for exams. He divided basic reading into speed reading (5 minutes), thorough reading (30 minutes), and finally 5 minutes of summary and integration.

Look at the photos I took casually. The patterns mentioned in the book may be suitable for friends who have to read books every day but have limited time at their disposal. I believe that after trying this pattern several times and then adjusting your reading rhythm, you should be able to effectively control your own reading context and progress.

German psychologist Lorelis. Lorelies Singerhoff believes that in our society, regularly repeated and symbolic social activities are actually “rituals”. I also find it interesting to see this Japanese author develop the “one chapter a day” reading pattern into a ritual.

You must know that with specific rituals or rhythms, reading is not a painful task, but can truly enter our souls and flesh.

The Japanese love to talk about official work (work skills). What’s great is that they often have a tenable system or framework. In the future, I will share more useful work techniques, hoping to help everyone come in handy in life!
