Hello everyone, my name is Vista. I’m here again, happy to see you all today! Some of the friends I had met last time and some new friends were also seen, which was really fun! I am very happy to be able to participate in the “Freelancer Meetup” event again, and thank you Meizhen for the invitation.
Today, I want to share with you a new website I recently built, “Writing Cool”. As the name suggests, this is indeed a writing-related website. When I introduced myself just now, I mentioned that I first worked in the Internet industry, then entered the media, and later did related work such as apps and e-commerce. I can be considered a cross-field practitioner!
Because I know a little bit about technology, it is not too difficult for me to build a website or set up a blog. In addition, I like to do things with my hands, and I also like to write, so I never tire of running a website.
In recent years, I have often had the opportunity to give lectures or lectures in many companies or universities. The topics I teach are mainly digital marketing, community management, copywriting, brand image and media communication, etc. You should be able to find that although these topics are not the same, they are all related to content production.
Originally, I thought writing should be a very happy thing, right? But during my lectures, I suddenly discovered that many working people or college students are afraid of writing. Even when I hear about writing, my scalp goes numb, or I feel that it is very disturbing. So, I started thinking about how I can help you? Or provide some useful resources?
Because I found that there were very few similar resources in Taiwan, I established the “Content Hacker” website in October 2017 to share with you exciting cases and business skills related to content marketing. In recent years, due to the rising advertising costs, content marketing has become a prominent science. However, this is not a recently popular concept. The “Michelin Guide” launched a hundred years ago can be said to be the origin of content marketing.
But I also found that just talking about content marketing is not enough. We should start from writing to help more friends regain the joy of writing(https://www.writing.cool/2019/09/the-joy-of-writing.html). Recently, I just finished writing an audio course “[Building Content Marketing from 0 to 1] (https://content.tw/contentmarketing/)” and a new book (to be published in November), so I have some time to stop and take stock again.

When he heard that I was going to build a new website, my friend [White Bear] (https://www.facebook.com/guruchin) even joked: “You already run so many websites that I have to find a way to make another list!” Maybe my website is like the clothes in a girl’s wardrobe, there is always one less thing, right? Of course this is a joke, but I think it’s good to take this opportunity to refocus and think again.
So, I did a little inventory of the websites at hand and found that there are some learning-type ones, some work-related ones, or more life-oriented ones…
I find that between study and work, there seems to be a space to do something new? I also feel that although the Taiwanese publishing market has been releasing writing-related books in recent years, there still don’t seem to be enough cases and online resources about writing or marketing! So, this prompted me to decide to make a new website focused exclusively on writing.
As an unfree worker, I don’t seem to have any right to take a vacation, so during this Mid-Autumn Festival, while everyone is on vacation, I started to build this new website. Why is it named “Writing is Cool”? In fact, there is a pun: firstly, it means “writing itself is a cool thing”, and secondly, it hopes that this website can become a writing database in the Chinese-speaking world.
I wonder if you have discovered it? The interface of this website looks very simple, without too many pictures? This is because I hope it can be turned on quickly to take full advantage of the writing library. Of course, this is also related to search engine optimization (SEO) strategies. I hope that this website can provide writing teaching, resources and related services. Of course, I also hope to have more works to share with you.
This website has just been established, so there is not much content on it yet. Please give me some time and I will slowly add some things later. Writing is a cool and happy thing, but it is inevitable to feel lonely when writing alone, so I also welcome everyone to write together.
For a person with a background in science and engineering, I really think writing is a cool thing! So, finally I have two things I want to ask you for help with! The first thing is to ask everyone to share this website with your relatives and friends - whether they are friends who like writing, or friends who have not yet been able to get in!
