As a writing coach, friends often ask me how to collect inspiration for writing? In fact, life is full of inspiration and interesting materials, it just depends on whether you observe and experience them with your heart.

Many friends feel that in the process of creation, they need the blessing of inspiration. Of course, I don’t deny the power of inspiration. But how do you collect inspiration?

I suggest that you usually observe more about your living environment and work scenes, and you can discover some interesting applications or some new things. For example, when you are in a working environment or during leisure and entertainment, you can observe more interesting changes or the latest popular things, and think about whether they can be combined with the theme of your future creation.

For example, many people like to watch TV dramas. So in addition to chasing stars and passing time, can you gain insight into the meaning and spirit of today’s times through the process of watching TV dramas? I believe that if you can observe the details, you will be able to collect a lot of interesting inspiration!

Next, let me use myself as an example to share with you how to collect and manage inspiration!

As a writer, consultant and lecturer, the challenge I face is not only to create new books or various works, but also to transform my knowledge and experience into valuable teaching content. By applying the method in “20 Drawers of Creativity”, I began to consciously classify and organize the information I came into contact with. For example, I will set up special drawers for different writing topics, such as business management, creative writing, building personal brand, etc.

Whenever I need to prepare a lecture on Copywriting or AI Application, I can quickly extract the required information and cases from the corresponding “drawer” and combine it with my own actual experience to form rich and attractive content. At the same time, this method also helps me maintain curiosity and sensitivity to the surrounding environment in my daily life, and then constantly replenish my “creative drawer” with new materials.

Another very important point is that you can’t just observe with your eyes. I suggest everyone to observe carefully and make good use of your senses. In other words, I encourage everyone to fully experience everything in the world, life scenes and work situations, discover some interesting and different things from them, organize and think about them, and see how to apply them to writing. This way, you’ll never be short of inspiration.

For example, I believe you often visit coffee shops or convenience stores! Every time you go to these places for consumption, in addition to shopping, can you also pay more attention to the changes around you? I believe that in these fast-paced fields, there must be many clues worth observing!

Having curiosity about the world is the secret to my ability to continue creating. If you can maintain this attitude of careful observation and experience, you will naturally find that creative materials are actually everywhere, and writing will become more interesting and rich!
