I recently re-read “[Achieved Diary: Make a “Achieved List” in 5 Minutes a Day, Focus on Accumulating “Small Achievements” to Lay the Root for Success] (https://www.eslite.com/product/1001251382638303)” published by Caishi Culture. This is a good book that looks small but is quite meaningful. I deliberately put down the work at hand and started reading immediately. Unexpectedly, the more I read, the more interesting it became, and the dialogue with the author seemed to gain feedback and resonance.
“[Achieved Diary: 1 day and 5 minutes, make “Achieved List”, focus on accumulating “small achievements” to take root for success] (https://www.eslite.com/product/1001251382638303)” [Kenichi Nagatani] (https://www.amazon.co.jp/s/ref=dp_byline_sr_book_1?ie=U TF8&text=%E6%B0%B8%E8%B0%B7+%E7%A0%94%E4%B8%80&search-alias=books-jp&field-aut hor=%E6%B0%B8%E8%B0%B7+%E7%A0%94%E4%B8%80&sort=relevancerank) mentioned that “little things accomplished” are more important than you think. I really agree with this. Don’t think that some trivial things are not important, or that you have to do something grand to be successful. In fact, this is not the case. For example, the things mentioned in the book such as organizing the desk, fixing the printer settings, etc., although they seem to be small things in daily life, are they not things that are very meaningful to you?
This also reminded me that I would insist on writing down my experience on the same day after participating in the event, not because I wanted to be quick, but because I could improve myself through the process of completing small things… Although these are just trivial things, to me, they are not very meaningful “small achievements”?
The book also mentioned an interesting point, that is, finding “done things” requires the use of “glasses” and “lenses”, two tools for self-discovery. Of course, this does not refer to myopia or reading glasses, but:
*Happy glasses that can detect changes in “emotions”.
- Digital glasses that can see changes in “numbers”.
- A person’s glasses that can see “people’s reactions”.
Many people are busy striving for fame and wealth, but ignore the importance of happiness. Even if they achieve success and fame, they are not happy. Just like when I heard the song “Live My Life” by Xiao Huangqi recently, I was very touched: the lyrics mentioned, “I live the life I want, not just living my life. As long as it is what I want, I will have the mood for as long as I look forward to it.” Think about it, isn’t the pursuit of life a kind of comfort?
When it comes to finding the “digital glasses” for growth, the author specifically mentioned the three key points of time, value and habituation. If you think about it carefully, this seems to coincide with the view that I mentioned in my previous speech at Shih Hsin University that modern people should have [data-driven capabilities] (http://www.shu.edu.tw/Spotlight.aspx?from=06&sID=24292). Well, I think the principles in the series are all the same!
Finally, the author also tells us that we need to wear a pair of glasses that can observe others. This also reminds me of my favorite “observation on the road”. In order to more keenly observe the mood of friends around us, we must be able to match the three lenses of gratitude, expressions and actions at any time!
The internationally renowned author [Kenichi Nagatani] (http://netman-global.com/), who is internationally renowned as an inventor, encourages us to choose one thing from the “to be completed” every day and write down our reflections once a week. As long as you answer the following four questions in order and write down your reflections in the form of questions and answers, you can achieve in-depth thinking:
- Factual details: What exactly happened?
- Analyze the reasons: Why can it be done?
- Inner feelings: How do you actually feel at this moment?
- Next steps: What changes will you make starting tomorrow?
Look, isn’t it very simple? This is the so-called “introspective essay”. You can also use “4W1H” to help you recall what tasks you have completed? Small changes in behavior will eventually lead to huge transformations. In the past, I always liked to try many kinds of apps, but now I have carefully selected useful mobile apps and given each app practical scenarios and meanings.

For example, I installed aTimeLogger 2, a personal time recorder, and I can quickly grasp my work and exercise status, and even understand the use of time.
To put it simply, the book “[Achieved Diary: 5 minutes a day, making a “done list”, focusing on accumulating “small achievements” to lay the foundation for success] (https://www.eslite.com/product/1001251382638303)” teaches us to enhance our sense of self-affirmation by completing things. Although this book is not long, it is very enjoyable to read. I also encourage everyone to make good use of pen and paper or digital tools to record their own growth.
