To be honest, when I first read “[Motivation Revolution: Written for the generation who don’t want to work for money]” (https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/0010809069?utm_source=vista&utm_ medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201902)”, a new book written by Japanese author Kazuki Ohara, I sneered at the line written on the waist of the book, “As a generation that is not hungry, have you found your own instruction manual?”

──In this busy modern society, who is not trying to survive in the Jiji camp? Where does this “generation without hunger” come from!

Until one day, I received a message from Gong Luzhen, the editor-in-chief of Crown Culture Group, and she solemnly recommended to me “[Motivation Revolution: Written for the generation who don’t want to work for money]” (https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/ 0010809069?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201902)》, I read this book again. The result was incredible. I got a lot of inspiration and resonance from this book. After carefully studying the author’s academic experience, I discovered that [Ohara Kazuki] (https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%B0%BE%E5%8E%9F%E5%92%8C%E5%95%93) is a well-known Japanese IT critic and a senior consultant… Not only are we from the same generation, but our backgrounds are also somewhat similar.

At this time, I suddenly realized that the “non-hungry generation” mentioned by the author in the book may be a metaphor for Japan’s “[relaxed generation](https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E5%AF%AC%E9%AC%86%E4%B8% 96%E4%BB%A3)》(ゆとりgeneration)?

Loose Generation refers to the generation born after 1987 in Japan. People of this generation were mainly influenced by the “relaxed education” that was implemented in 2002 when they were in school. Relaxed education aims to cultivate students’ thinking ability and knowledge application ability, and reduces the content that students must master in the education syllabus by 30%. It also implements a unified five-day school week (two days off per week), reducing the burden on students. Under the liberal education, public opinion believes that students’ learning ability has generally declined, and their learning attitudes are not correct enough. After graduation, problems with getting along with colleagues have also been highlighted in the workplace. It is generally believed that the learning ability and competitiveness of people in the relaxed generation are not as good as those of previous generations.

Whether it is the “not hungry generation” or the “relaxed generation”, they are all reflections of today’s society. The author points out that young people nowadays are not in need of life, but they have also lost the desire to pursue success. Therefore, many people do not want to work just for money…

The author mentioned that although the “Hungry-Free Generation” is not without enthusiasm for work, it cannot fully dedicate its life to work. They have no intention of achieving any lofty goals, nor do they want to work hard to pursue happiness. Rather than monetary rewards, they value “the meaning of their own efforts,” “good interpersonal relationships,” and “wholehearted devotion.”

In recent years, I often give lectures in companies and universities, and I also work with many young people. Faced with these social phenomena, to be honest, there is nothing right or wrong. It is important for each of us to find the value of existence and the meaning of life, as well as our own interests and passions.

They say “life is short.” How to successfully walk this journey of life may be far more attractive than success!

The author puts forward many of his own views in the book “[Motivation Revolution: For the Generation Who Don’t Want to Work for Money] (https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/0010809069?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201902)”, and many of them are similar to my thoughts. It’s like dividing work into “life work” and “life work”. In order to create a “life work” that you can devote yourself to, you will usually be very active in doing the “life work” well, and then you will have enough time to devote to the “life work” you like.

In addition, the author likes to wear red scarves, which has become his registered trademark, while I like to wear red sneakers. I always feel that this is not only eye-catching, but also brings a sense of enthusiasm and action to myself and my friends. Well, if you think about it carefully, this coincidence is really interesting!

In addition, the author is very good at connecting the fate between people and regards it as the value of his own life. This also coincides with me. Because I worked in the media and Internet industry in the past, I often joked: “I know a lot of people, but there are even more people who know me!” Although this is a joke, it is not true!

My views on network management are the same as the author’s: I hope that when connecting interpersonal relationships, beautiful creativity and sparks can be stimulated, rather than looking at the interests of intermediaries. Being able to use my creativity and expertise to connect fate is naturally an extension of “life and work”.

Motivation Revolution: Written for the generation who don’t want to work for money” is a good book that seems easy to understand, but actually takes a while to chew and digest. Whether you want to work for money or not, I think this book is suitable to keep on your desk and read at any time!
