Mastering the Rhythm in Change: Life Cultivation, Growth and Mobility

Movements on the hands, learning in the heart: When caring becomes a practice

In the past few days, I have become familiar with a skill that I had never thought of before - changing my mother’s dressing. From the guidance of the hospital nurse to the actual operation, every step made me realize that taking care of patients is not just a technical challenge, but a physical and mental exercise.

In the morning, I picked up the medical supplies and told myself: “I must be more skilled today than yesterday.” However, when I actually started to do it, I still made some mistakes in the steps and failed to take into account some details. But fortunately, the speed this time was much faster than the previous few days, and my mother did not feel uncomfortable because of my unfamiliarity. This training of patience and care not only allowed my mother to recover better from her wounds, but also allowed me to learn more about the meaning of responsibility and care during this period.

My mother went to a clinic near her home today. The family doctor she was familiar with prescribed a new blood pressure medication, and the worrying numbers finally stopped showing up in the evening. This made me feel relieved and reminded me that health management is not just something that should be paid attention to when illness comes, but requires long-term maintenance and adaptation. The experiences of the past few days have made me think that physical recovery is really not just about medical treatment, but comes from careful companionship, a stable routine, and small changes accumulated day after day.

In the afternoon, my little aunt came from Hsinchu to visit my mother. These days, I have realized more and more deeply that family care is sometimes more effective than medicine. People’s emotions and physical conditions are closely related. When a person is sick, they need not only medical treatment, but also the patience and companionship of their family members. This process also allowed me to redefine the meaning of “health” - not just physical recovery, but an overall balance, a state of interpersonal support and inner stability.

Every piece of unexpected support is a force for progress.

I thought it was just a general notification, but after I clicked on it, I discovered that it was a donation from an old friend from the National Taiwan University Research Institute. My classmates said they are paying attention to my posts, and some will forward them to their friends, hoping that I can continue to write!

These few words made me stunned for a moment. Over the years, I have become accustomed to writing, accustomed to thinking, and accustomed to recording my thoughts, but I have never particularly expected anything in return. But when someone takes the initiative to tell you: “Your content has changed my thinking and your words have brought value.” The feeling is indescribable.

This amount may not be a big amount, but it symbolizes some kind of invisible support and reminds me that every moment of careful creation has the potential to affect someone’s world. This also made me realize that the value of knowledge and experience is often invisible, but as long as you continue to do the right things, you will eventually receive a response from the world at some point in your life.

Learning, exchange and reflection: real growth comes from sharing and action

I met a friend in the afternoon. I gave her a book and she gave me a gift box of high-quality oil in return. This is not an ordinary exchange, but an interaction full of meaning - books symbolize thoughts, and oil symbolizes the nourishment of life. Knowledge and health are the most valuable assets in life.

This meeting was not just an exchange of gifts, but also a discussion about strategy and growth. My friend was just starting out in her career, and I provided some practical advice to help her clarify current problems and possible solutions. This conversation convinced me once again that sometimes, what we lack is not resources, but the understanding of the problem, and what we lack is a perspective that can guide us in the direction.

On the other hand, I had a deep conversation with a secretary friend last night to help her learn how to use AI tools to improve work efficiency. Many people think that having powerful tools can solve problems, but in fact, tools are just means. The key lies in whether we truly understand our needs and goals.

She has been looking forward to using AI tools to organize meeting minutes, but past experience has deterred her. When I demonstrated how to let AI automatically generate a summary and turn it into a specific action plan, she said in surprise: “The teacher’s prompt words today can actually help AI find the key points!”

Moments like this make me more convinced that technology is not the purpose, the key lies in how we let it create value for us.

Action is the only way to turn possibility into reality

Today, I drew a tarot card with the magician in the upright position. This is a card full of power, symbolizing “the ability to transform ideas into reality.”

This made me reflect that many times, we have enough resources and knowledge, but are reluctant to act because we are always waiting for “better times.” But the truth is, the best time never comes automatically. Only when you start taking action will the time start to move towards you.

This also reminds me of the progress of my thesis. These days, I have not really started writing. I tell myself “I will write tomorrow” every day, but this kind of procrastination will only make my future self more exhausted. And today’s magician card is like a strong message - don’t wait any longer, now is the best time!

Find your own rhythm and move forward amidst changes

Today’s events made me realize once again that we cannot control change, but we can choose how to move forward amid change.

The process of taking care of my mother taught me patience, the support of friends made me feel the value of creation, learning and sharing allowed me to see the power of knowledge, and action is the key to making everything really happen. Time will not wait for us, but we can choose how to use time to make it a boost for progress rather than an excuse for stagnation.

There is still a long way to go, but I know that as long as we continue to act, the pace of growth will not stop.
