Every time I take a copywriting class, I always ask students to share the writing problems they encounter. In addition to listening to their voices, I also get to understand what bottlenecks many friends encounter, and at the same time, I also think about how I can help everyone.

A few days ago, I asked the same question in the course “[Subscripting for Attractive Copywriting] (https://tesa.waca.ec/product/detail/261701)”. Everyone has also put forward the crux of their own difficulties, which is nothing more than lack of time, poor writing skills, not knowing how to write, or lack of inspiration…etc.

Regarding the issue of writing time, if you want to write faster and better, you can take a look at “[How to write a blog post in half an hour?](https://www.contenthacker.today/2019/02/write-your-blog-post-faster .html)” this article; if you want to know how to cultivate inspiration, you can also refer to my previous method of building an [inspiration database] (https://www.contenthacker.today/2018/09/build-a-inspiration-database.html). As for not knowing how to write, you can also refer to the [Keynote Speech] (https://www.contenthacker.today/2018/08/five-rules-for-writing-good-articles.html) that I was invited to share at the PIXNET Community Academy in the past.

Is poor writing really a problem?

Today, let us talk about the problem of poor writing!

Many people will say to me: “Teacher, my writing is not good…” Looking at the way everyone hesitates to speak, I can somewhat understand this feeling. Some friends know their own shortcomings, so they work hard to read books, take classes, and invest time in practicing writing. However, over the years, I have also discovered some phenomena, such as some friends who are always entangled in their hearts and are unwilling to face the truth, let alone face themselves sincerely.

──Their implication is that because of poor writing skills, they cannot write good articles with clever writing, and naturally they cannot attract readers’ attention.

But, is that really the case?

It is true that there are some differences between literary creation and business document writing. If you put literary creation aside, do you really think that every popular article or product copy must be filled with a lot of gorgeous vocabulary? Or did you use a lot of interesting things? Compared with the pleasant feeling that your wonderful writing brings to readers, I think whether you can tell a story well and make the details of the content shine is more important.

It doesn’t matter if our writing skills are not good. We can improve it through a lot of reading, observation and practice. Even if we still can’t reach the level of fluent writing throughout our life, we can at least express our inner thoughts completely. You know, rather than blindly pursuing writing skills, we should at least aim for smooth writing.

When you are writing an article, in addition to starting from the reader’s perspective, you should also ask yourself from time to time: What do you want to say in this article? What perspectives or benefits can be provided? To put it more bluntly, can readers easily grasp your emotions and thoughts between the lines?

Create sparkling key moments

The Heath brothers in “The Power of Moments” points out in this book that if we can effectively create critical moments of impact, we can create opportunities for transformation and change. This book delves into some of the fascinating mysteries of experience: why we tend to remember some of our best or worst experiences, as well as their final moments, and then forget the rest.

If people’s recall of experiences depends on the [Peak-End Law](https://medium.com/@wylin/%E7%94%A8%E7%BE%8E%E5%A5%BD%E7%9A%84-30-%E7%A7%92%E8%AE%93%E4%B D%BF%E7%94%A8%E8%80%85%E5%BF%BD%E7%95%A5-99-%E7%9A%84%E5%B9%B3%E5%BA%B8%E6%99%82%E5%88%BB-fb3b36fdf962) (Peak-End Rule), then, when writing articles, maybe we should all think about it - what are the sparkling details that can attract readers’ attention?

For example, I recently saw a partner in the “Vista Writing Companionship Program” write an article about her experience in taking a certain reading course. My friend mentioned that the teacher assigned an assignment and asked everyone to read for 15 minutes every day for a month. This magical little task allowed her to persevere and find the joy of reading…

Although my friend only briefly mentioned it without mentioning too many details, reading this paragraph made me very interested as a reader: if you read for 15 minutes a day, how do you read it? Are there any reference guides? In addition to reading, do you also need to output? This series of questions is the shining details of this article waiting to be discovered.

The Power of Moments” teaches us to create a richer life experience for ourselves. Similarly, if you want to improve your writing skills, in addition to learning layout techniques, topic breaking and ending techniques, and improving vocabulary use, you may first try to expand your horizons and thinking.

Keep practicing to create a unique style

A well-written article can often make people remember it deeply, gain some inspiration, and even bring about a major turning point in their future lives. When you have the confidence and courage to express your opinions and write them in a simple, understandable and organized way, you will naturally be able to escape the shackles of poor writing. The so-called “God rewards hard work”, if you can write consistently, slowly and slowly, I believe you will be able to create your own unique style!
