I am very happy to attend the monthly meeting of the leader of Book Fans Alliance tonight. Since I came earlier, I first talked with [Dao Feng](https://www.facebook.com/ yoursmile3745) chatted with the teacher, and later also talked to the founder Hank about the upcoming Book Fan Alliance annual event “O2O Knowledge Economy Ecosystem Development Forum” to be held in July.
Closer to home, there will be three focuses in May’s Gang Leader Month, which are the introduction of the new version of the Book Fan Alliance, the progress of the new operation and construction of the Book Fan Alliance, and the most popular “Jump Private School” unit.
Tonight, the topic that “Yuanjian Private School” wants to talk to you about is the secret of Taiwanese lecturers’ development in mainland China. The Shufan Alliance specially invited Mr. Hu Xiaodong, who has served as the Information Security Product Promotion Manager of the Server Network Division of Lenovo Group, Vice President of Beijing Aozi Times Education Network Technology Co., Ltd., General Manager of the Corporate Education Online Training Division of Anbo Education Group, and CEO of Taiyi International Consulting Group (Beijing), to the monthly meeting of Shufan Gang Leaders to deliver a special speech on the topic of “The Secret of Taiwanese Lecturers Traveling in Mainland China.”

In just one hour of special topic sharing, Mr. Hu unreservedly brought three topics worthy of attention and thought to the participating book fans, namely:
-
In my eyes, Taiwanese enterprise training instructors have been in mainland China for 20 years.
-
The blind spots for Taiwanese enterprise training lecturers to develop in mainland China.
-
A shortcut for Taiwan’s new generation of corporate training instructors to develop in the mainland.
Mr. Hu said it bluntly at the beginning: “In the past five years, I don’t seem to have seen any special course topics offered by Taiwanese lecturers. Most of them are old wine in new bottles.”
But as the saying goes, “A crisis is a turning point.” Mr. Hu changed the topic and encouraged everyone that “if there are no good lessons in the market, there are opportunities.” From the current point of view, marketing and performance management courses are in urgent need and are also very popular in the corporate internal training market. There are also many companies that like innovative or creative courses.
However, Taiwanese corporate training instructors have accumulated more experience in the field of innovation and have made breakthroughs, so they still maintain some leading advantages. But it is not difficult to imagine that the gap between us and mainland lecturers is getting smaller and smaller, so we must pay special attention.
When talking about the blind spots of Taiwanese corporate training instructors developing in the mainland, Mr. Hu specifically mentioned the following four points: development in the mainland, education and culture, key points in topic selection, and teaching copy. It has been 40 years since the mainland’s reform, and technology and economic civilization are changing rapidly, but many Taiwanese lecturers are still not familiar with the mainland market. The design of topic selection and teaching copy is not delicate enough.
In addition, Taiwanese lecturers have a common problem when teaching, that is, it is easy to enter the enlightenment stage too early. Mr. Hu suggested that everyone should make good use of the “general, divided, and total structure” to design teaching, so as to overcome the problem of inaccurate grasp of teaching points.
In tonight’s keynote speech, Mr. Hu asked the guests if anyone was teaching business models? Originally I wanted to raise my hand, but unfortunately I was sitting too far away, so he probably didn’t notice… But I was amazed by his proposal to use clay techniques to teach students to design their own [business model] (https://www.helpful.guide/2019/05/how-to-design-your-winning-business-model.html). This teaching model of “thinking with hands” is really interesting, and it is indeed worthy of reference and learning.
In addition, Mr. Hu also pointed out that Taiwanese lecturers are not good at packaging themselves, are too lazy to redesign presentations, or simply convert Traditional Chinese into Simplified Chinese, but ignore the importance of localization. He also mentioned a key point: the presentation thinking of many Taiwanese lecturers is still stuck in the 20 years ago, or even in the 4:3 mode, which has long been out of date.
In addition to the lack of care in the presentation design, he also pointed out that Taiwanese lecturers generally fail to achieve the ideal level in the logical part of the course and need to take time to further their studies and refer to the latest foreign teaching design concepts.
In addition to providing suggestions, Mr. Hu also encouraged everyone to find good content and focus on developing their own signature courses.
The greatest competitiveness of a lecturer is time. There is a big difference between teaching for twenty years and teaching for two years.
As the saying goes, “one has two ears to hear what’s happening outside the window.” As a lecturer, you must keep pace with the times. In addition to delving into the majors in your own field, Mr. Hu also encourages everyone to dabble in more information and not be fooled by fake news.
Regarding the training market in mainland China, Mr. Hu also mentioned several trends:
-
There are more and more half-day classes.
-
The training market is increasingly project-oriented.
Mr. Hu suggested that everyone design their courses into projects (projects) and try to participate in the planning from front to back, but it should not be tied too much to business results. The reason is simple, because there are too many variables in business results, which are often uncontrollable.
Competition in the mainland training market is fierce, and incidents of course content being plagiarized are common. In response to this issue, Mr. Hu also put forward his suggestion. If you want to prevent your courses from being picked up, please tell more of your own stories and cases in the courses; in this way, it will naturally be difficult for others to copy.
For Taiwanese lecturers who are interested in developing the mainland market, Mr. Hu finally gave everyone a sincere suggestion: Don’t just teach a single course, but develop it into a system. It is also necessary to establish a curriculum system, and the branch parts must also have corresponding courses. As for the design of teaching courses, techniques and forms, it is necessary to constantly refine and introduce new ones to try to form a complete and unique architectural system.
After listening to Mr. Hu’s sharing, I felt like I had taken a class, which made me understand the importance of focusing, accumulating and developing valuable and good content for professional lecturers. In addition, we must respect the market and listen to our customers.
