The aroma of coffee in the afternoon brings with it the thrill of knowledge transfer.
Afternoon Cafe: The Intertwined Encounter of Thought and Technology
CURISTA COFFEE, located in Xinyi District, Taipei City, is a cafe full of design. Large floor-to-ceiling windows let in the warm afternoon sunlight, and the wooden tables, chairs, and calm lighting make the place seem peaceful without losing the atmosphere. Even though there were a lot of people around, Steven and I were still immersed in our own world, as if this discussion only belonged to us.
“You should try using AI to convert past articles into English,” Steven said while stirring the coffee. “This will not only help your ideas spread further, but also benefit more people.”
This sentence gave me pause. Yes, knowledge should not be limited by language. The era of AI has arrived, and am I ready to embrace this wave of globalization?
“It’s time to play in the World Cup.” We looked at each other and smiled.
At this moment, my thoughts began to surge and I began to think about how I should plan this new path next. Every in-depth conversation with friends always inspires new inspiration, and this afternoon encounter undoubtedly ignited a new light for my future.
Gathering in the night: reliving original intentions in a familiar network
After saying goodbye to Steven, I strolled along Zhongxiao East Road to attend a dinner party for the Department Alumni of the Department of Cultural and Creative Industries Management, Taipei University of Education (https://ccim.ntue.edu.tw). This is a long-awaited gathering. Department friends who have not seen each other for a long time gather together to exchange their current situation and share their own growth and challenges.
Department Alumni Association of the Department of Cultural and Creative Industries Management, National Taipei University of Education
The reason why the Department Alumni Association can be successfully organized is really thanks to the first president Hu Hengshi. I sincerely thank him for his hard work and coordination over the past two and a half years, and finally brought together the cultural and creative people from North China who have been graduating for a long time! Now that he can finally take the burden off his shoulders, he is really grateful to the senior for his efforts.
During the dinner, I chatted a lot with the second president Bagel, a school girl. She is now back to the department taking part-time classes, and is about to take over the department’s Alumni Association, shouldering greater responsibilities and expectations. I looked at her busy figure with admiration in my heart. A person’s growth is not only a personal journey, but also a story intertwined with everyone, and Bagel is writing her own wonderful chapter.
Another department friend who impressed me deeply is the junior student [Wang Chengzhe] (https://www.facebook.com/casperwang.Photo/?locale=zh_TW) (passbook). He has been letting the world know about Taiwan through [Photography](https://tw.news.yahoo.com/Sweeping the European Photography Awards with Divine Photos - Photographer Wang Chengzhe Let the World See Taiwan-234753134.html) for many years, participating in countless international competitions, and showing the beauty of this island to more people with his works. When he shared how he chose the subject and how he waited for the perfect moment, I seemed to see his world, full of delicacy and concentration.
At this time, my thoughts drifted into the distance, thinking of my father in heaven. He used to be a creator who loved photography. He always took his camera with him when traveling to capture our smiles, the lights and shadows on street corners, and the moments of rolling waves. It was a kind of gentle companionship, and as time went by, it became an indelible image in my memory. Perhaps this is why I always have a special emotion towards photography, because it is not only a record, but also a connection, connecting the past and present, and connecting longing and love.
Warm support from friends turns into motivation to move forward
After returning home, my doctoral classmate Sister Shan sent a message: “I want to buy ten new books. Please sign it for me!” She is a well-known [super agent] (https://www.persona-media.com/5537/sandychi-celebrity-agent) on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. She has many busy schedules, but she still finds time to support my work. This friendship makes me grateful.
Not only his classmates and friends supported him, but Steven also bought three new books to give to his friends.
These words and actions moved me more than the numbers on the ranking list. Publishing a book is not for some external achievement, but to connect with more people, so that a certain reader, perhaps one day or at a certain turning point, can find a direction because of these words.
I looked at the books on the shelf quietly, silently making a wish in my heart, hoping that it would find a suitable reader and become someone’s guide.
Move forward in the long river of knowledge and emotion
Today’s time is full of knowledge. From the discussions on AI to the reunions with alumni, it created a rational and emotional trajectory for me.
Knowledge is a bridge that allows us to explore a wider world.
Emotion is a beacon, guiding us not to walk alone on this road.
The road ahead is still long, and I will continue to wander in this long flowing river, looking forward to more wonderful encounters and inspirations.
