"Turn AI into your second brain" Lecture experience
Thanks to NTU classmate Mao for permission to repost.
In this lecture, the concepts given by Teacher Zheng are very useful for both full-time students and professionals. The teacher mentioned that in the era of AI, the most important thing is “thinking”. Everyone can easily create a free social account, express themselves freely, and create a personal brand at the same time. We are surrounded by countless messages every day, such as articles, videos, conversations or news, but most people just “pass through” rather than “precipitate”.
AI is a container that helps us retain knowledge
If knowledge is not organized and internalized, it will eventually flow away like an hourglass. And AI is the container that can help us retain sand. Whether it’s recording, taking photos, handwritten notes, or even fragments of a flash of ideas, as long as we leave it to the AI assistant, it can help us structure, refine the key points, and turn chaos into clarity. The compiled notes need to be reviewed regularly. In the past days, I will also review the diaries I wrote in college or in my first year of master’s degree, and give feedback on my feelings or doubts at the time, so that I can talk to myself in different time and space, and at the same time record the trajectory of my growth.
Meeting minutes are the starting point for action
The part that impressed me most about this lecture was the teacher’s talk about the nature of “meeting minutes”. He said: “The meeting minutes are not a running account, but the starting point for action.” This sentence made me suddenly realize. In the past two years in the master’s class at National Taiwan University, I wrote countless reports and notes, but I never thought that the real purpose of writing is to promote the next step. From then on, I no longer just passively recorded, but actively asked: What actions will this conversation bring to the follow-up? Which ideas are worth pursuing? In addition, in response to the “career” lecture, the teacher demonstrated prompt words used in different situations, and also specifically mentioned that we can design exclusive prompt words for our respective professional fields.
At the end of the lecture, the teacher said what can we do next after listening to this lecture? I once wanted to take pictures of my master’s life, but I always forgot. Now I use words and photos interwoven into notes, and then ask AI to help summarize the themes and refine reflections, which will be published on my social media in the future.
Another profound realization is that the library is indeed a treasure trove. After leaving school, I will encounter many test questions that have not been taught in school. The solutions need to be solved by different authors through professional books. How to “question” accurately is a topic that I haven’t delved into yet. Thanks to the teacher for the tips, I can continue to dig for treasures in the library.
I am very happy to have the opportunity to listen to Teacher Zheng’s wonderful speech in the audience. I look forward to having the opportunity to participate in the teacher’s sharing and inspiration on different topics in the future.
