Recently, I had the honor to be interviewed by a friend, and he talked about his career development in his “early years” (hearing the other person mention these two words, I really feel old), and it also reminded me of many dusty past events…

When you think of me, what do you think of? Many people are impressed by my media label, but few people know that my first job in life was actually an electronic engineer who was busy assembling, welding electronic components and designing circuit diagrams. Well, isn’t this a bit hard to imagine?

I even wrote a database program when I was an intern at Acer Computer! Some friends are curious, why did I go from an ordinary electronic engineer to a product manager and producer in the Internet industry, and then to the media and e-commerce fields, and now I am a corporate consultant, lecturer, and columnist?

Some friends told me that when they mentioned Vista in the past, they would think of Microsoft’s operating system; but that has changed now. If you search for Vista on Google, you will probably find my digital footprints (including my personal website, columns, interviews, etc.). Looking back now, I feel vaguely like “The White-headed Palace Girl Talked Back Then”. This is indeed a long story, but if you think about it more carefully, it seems to be closely related to Personal Brand.

When it comes to personal branding, are you curious? If you have ever looked up information about personal branding, you will find that there are many books or courses devoted to this matter. Among the many statements, I particularly like Amazon boss Jeff. Jeff Bezos’ version:

Your brand is what others talk about you when you’re not there. (Your brand is what people say about you after you leave the room.)

For example, if I were to ask you to talk about Vista that you know, what labels would you put on it for me? Is he a content marketing coach, a master of writing articles quickly, or a cute uncle who is eager to help others?

Just think, if you have a distinct personal brand, it will help others understand you faster. At the same time, you can also convey the professionalism and value of your field to the outside world in a more concrete manner, thereby creating a sense of trust.

Of course, someone has also asked me: “If I have no plans to start a business for the time being, or if I have no interest in becoming a YouTuber or internet celebrity, do I no longer need to run a personal brand?”

In fact, there is no direct relationship between building a personal brand and whether you want to be popular. Put another way, the reason why we need to operate a personal brand is mainly to create a distinctive style and image so that the outside world can better understand our characteristics and style, and then effectively convey our professionalism and value.

Take the “Vista Writing Companion Program” that I established as an example. So far, I have accompanied more than a hundred partners from all over the world. They improve their writing skills through hands-on practice, and I also provide advice and assistance. These students are many elites from all walks of life, and everyone has a bright future in their respective fields. While accompanying the students, I also discovered that not only did everyone want to learn more about writing and marketing, but they also wanted to use this knowledge to do more things or seek monetization possibilities.

In order to help more friends achieve their learning goals and aspirations, in addition to constantly iterating the content of my courses, I have also dabbled in a lot of new knowledge related to course design and student interaction in recent years. I hope that through teaching and practice at the same time, I can create a learning experience that is enjoyable and capable of growth, and thus help everyone grow.

I also discovered that just learning writing and marketing skills is not enough! In this highly competitive era, many friends actually need a complete set of knowledge about building a personal brand. Therefore, after the first anniversary of the “Vista Writing Companion Program”, I originally planned to launch a separate “Personal Brand Companion Program”, hoping to help friends who are interested in building a personal brand through this method.

Just at this time, I met an invitation from a friend on the YOTTA website, and considering the impact of the [COVID-19] (https://jumpstart.best/marketing-covid-19/) epidemic, I decided to plan an online course on personal branding first, hoping to help more friends. In addition to the rich course content and assignments, this course also invited two experts with expertise Zhong Xiaoyun and Luo Runsheng serve as guest teachers, hoping to bring a more fulfilling and exciting knowledge feast to the students.

If you are an office worker, through the “[Personal Brand Management Practice] (https://www.yottau.com.tw/course/intro/982?act=notredirect#intro)” online course, you will be able to learn skills related to operating self-media to expand your digital footprint. If you are already a professional who is highly respected by clients, then I will help you increase your personal voice so that you can be seen by more people!

According to data from the YOTTA website, several accountants, lawyers and other professionals have signed up for the “[Personal Brand Management Practice] (https://www.yottau.com.tw/course/intro/982?act=notredirect#intro)” online course. Want to practice with these masters?

I am looking forward to accompanying you to create a unique personal brand through the interaction of the “[Personal Brand Management Practice] (https://www.yottau.com.tw/course/intro/982?act=notredirect#intro)” course! At the same time, I will also continue the companion learning spirit of “Vista Writing Companion Program”, plan to build relevant learning communities, combine hands-on learning methods, and thoroughly take care of each student’s diverse motivations for learning and action.

I think you should have understood by now: Even if you don’t want to start a business or become an Internet celebrity, it is still necessary to build a personal brand!
