Recently, I held a video conference with a group of “Digital Marketing Connect” community leaders living in various European countries. At a time when the COVID-19 epidemic is raging, everyone still manages to break through the barriers of time and space and go online at the same time at the agreed time. It is really rare. It just so happened that I was about to launch an online course on “[Personal Brand Management Practice] (https://ps.yottau.net/RJ2ZL)” on April 21, so I spent some time in advance to help everyone integrate relevant information. In just two hours yesterday afternoon, I not only reviewed with you my personal experience in leading the reading club in the past ten years based on the mood of the white-headed palace girl, but also shared how I have built a unique personal brand step by step through the establishment of digital footprints and self-media management.

Speaking of personal brand, I believe everyone is familiar with it. According to Wikipedia Introduction, personal branding is the practice of marketers and their professional branding. It is an ongoing process of developing and maintaining the reputation and impression of an individual, group or organization. Some self-help practices focus on self-improvement, while personal branding defines success as a self-packaged form. It is believed that the term personal brand originated from Tom. An article written by Tom Peters in 1997.

But I also know that many friends may frown when they hear personal branding and secretly think:

I don’t want to start a business, nor do I want to be an Internet celebrity, so why do I need to build a personal brand?

Well, is that really the case? I don’t think so. Yes, if you want to start a business, become an opinion leader, or even become famous, you do need the support and support of personal brand… But if you have no idea of ​​​​starting a business for the time being, and just want to make full use of your strengths in the workplace, and look forward to converting your expertise into value, I think you can still use the support of your personal brand to help yourself shine and be seen by more people!


If you want your views to be recognized by more people and your expertise to be applied more effectively in more fields, then it is not enough to just work hard to write articles or make videos (that is only the first step at most). We must also have the correct methods and strategies (if you are interested, please look forward to my upcoming online course) in order to achieve synergy and sustain value.

Everyone can have a different interpretation of Personal Brand and have their own needs. In my opinion, the ideal state of building a personal brand is not necessarily to make a lot of money, but to let your friends, fans and customers see your efforts through practice, and then gain recognition in life. Even more, be willing to follow your lead and act accordingly.

When it comes to making money, it feels like the smell of copper will tarnish the holy halo of your personal brand. In fact, making money is indeed a noble virtue, as long as it is made legitimately and without deception. Some people avoid talking about money, but I think there is nothing wrong with this; of course, building a personal brand does not have to be linked to business interests, and everyone’s original intention of building a personal brand may not be the same. There is no standard answer to this—I think it’s just a matter of figuring out what you want to pursue throughout your life.

Confucius said: “Sincerity lies within and appearance lies outside. Therefore, a gentleman must be careful about his independence.” Well, let us encourage each other with these words of Confucius!
