Today (October 21st) is the first anniversary of the establishment of the “Content Hacker” website. In order to motivate myself to continue working in the field of content marketing, I signed up very early to participate in the “[Efficient Reading Club](https:/ /www.facebook.com/bestbookclubtw/)”, looking forward to hearing him share “[Content Power Company](https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/0010715167?utm_ source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201810)》,《[Knowledge Writing Course](https://www.books.com.tw/exep/as sp.php/vista/products/0010782814?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201810)” and “Long-selling! 》The experience of these three good books on the field of content marketing.
The three hours of sharing in the afternoon was full of useful information. It not only allowed me to review the essence of these three good books, but also reconsidered the new applications of content marketing.
Speaking of these three books, there is actually another story.
A long time ago, I read the book “[Content Power Company: Build a Big Business with Good Content] (https://goo.gl/ffzU5k)”, and I also held a [Reading Club] (https://www.vistabook.club/2017/07/build-up-a-content-inc.html) at that time. It is indeed a rare and good book. In the book “Content Power Company”, the author proposed a “content entrepreneurship model”, which includes the following six steps:
-
Sweet spot: Find the “knowledge or skills” that you or your company are good at, and the intersection of this “hobby field”, and use this as your main business content.
-
Convert content: After finding the sweet spot, entrepreneurs must change their perspective, identify the differences between themselves and their competitors, and find areas where there are few or no competitors in the general direction.
-
Solid foundation: After finding the content to operate, choose a suitable platform and continue to produce valuable content.
-
Gain an audience: After using appropriate platforms and establishing a solid content foundation, the number of viewers will continue to increase, and one-time readers will turn into long-term subscribers. At this time, you need to make good use of social media and formal search engine optimization. Web page traffic is not important, increasing long-term subscriber growth is the most important goal.
-
Diversify channels: Once you develop a strong, loyal, and growing audience, you can begin to develop more diverse communication methods from the main platforms to find new and different audiences.
-
Generate revenue: When the above five points are achieved, at this moment you have developed a group of readers who are loyal to you, and you can start selling your main products to them!
The book “Knowledge Writing Course” has many This is the work of a 2018-year-old friend, Zheng Guowei (https://www.facebook.com/portnoyzheng), who is also the editor-in-chief of “Pan Science”. In this book, he has compiled “Pan Science’s many years of experience and methods in creating knowledge articles and knowledge brands into this good book, and used practical examples to verify the effectiveness of the methods.
At the same time, in order to build a “personal knowledge brand”, Brother Guowei also provides a set of knowledge marketing methods and strategies so that readers can follow the operation step by step. For example, the “Knowledge Writing Nine Palaces” is quite practical.
As for “[Long-selling! )”, this is the latest of the three books. But to put it bluntly, when I first read this book, I felt that the content in the book was just commonplace, so I quickly finished reading it and prepared to put it away. But recently, I found that several friends have mentioned this book. For example, Miula’s MView even produced a special episode for this book!
So, I started reading this book again. This is amazing to watch, and I think it gave me a lot of inspiration and impact! The author tells us that whether creating or starting a business, the process is a marathon, not a sprint. As creators, we must think clearly why we create? And who is the target audience? Finally, how will your output help your target audience? You know, the more important and painful the problem that can be solved, the more likely it is to succeed.
Today I listened to Mr. Elton’s dismantling and summary at “Effective Reading Club”, and I can better understand that content marketing is not just about delivering useful and interesting information to the target audience, but also about being able to take into account content quality, marketing methods and profitability.
Several examples cited by Teacher Elton include “One Corpse to the End” and “[Science Wife](https://www.faceboo k.com/liketaitai/)” to “I am GaryVee” and other audio-visual works, we can also understand that good content must first resonate with the target audience.
So, what are the three key elements of long-term sales? In fact, it is the three points of permanence, practicality and entertainment. This also made me think and review some of my experiences in running the “Content Hacking” website over the past year. Practicality is the goal I have always pursued, but Chang Chang can only barely scratch the surface, and is still far from passing! As for entertainment, well, that’s probably my weakest point! Next, we have to review and improve.
I am very happy to have the opportunity to participate in this “Efficient Reading Club” organized by Teacher Elton today. I would also like to thank Teacher Belinda and Huaiqing. Well, it is indeed a great thing to build your own knowledge system in just three hours! In addition, it also allowed me to gain a deeper understanding of “content marketing”, which has indeed benefited me a lot.
