Today, let’s talk about a super interesting topic: when you get a brand new book, how do you start exploring it? Are you attracted by the title of the book first, or do you turn to the author’s introduction and want to get to know the soul who created the book first? Or are you the kind of reader who jumps directly to the table of contents and wants to grasp the structure of the book?
Think about it carefully, when you pick up a book, where will your eyes fall first? Is it the charming title, the famous author, or the well-organized table of contents? Perhaps, you have never been like me and have been deeply attracted by the passages on the back of the book cover. Every time, I am amazed at how these short words can quickly outline the soul of a book, and then decide whether the book is worth immersing yourself in?
Take the book “[Five Colors of Time Management that Turns Time into Gold] (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yOww9WZLsFo)” as an example. It was on the back of the book that I discovered the essence of this book - the time management rules represented by the five colors. It’s not just about how to choose a book, it’s a way to connect with a book and start a conversation. You must know that every word on the back of the book cover is like a whisper from the author and editor to you, a formal invitation to enter their world of thought.
In the reading community “Vista Book Club”, I not only share my book selection skills with my friends, but more importantly, we discuss how to turn reading into action and how to smoothly turn knowledge into a life-changing power. I believe that the ultimate goal of reading is not only the accumulation of knowledge, but also the process of realizing self-growth and goal achievement.
Through sharing and discussion with all book club partners, “Vista Book Club” has become a platform for mutual learning and common growth. Here, each member is encouraged to discover his or her own unique way of reading, share personal insights generously, and gain inspiration and motivation from them. This is a year-long spiritual journey that allows us to find dialogue between the pages of the book, discover ourselves, and realize our dreams.
Follow my footsteps to explore and savor the fragrance of books. Not only will you find more good books worth reading, but more importantly, we will meet a better version of ourselves in the process. Every book is a window through which we can see a wider world, experience different lives, and learn and grow from it.
So, the next time you hold a book in your hand, you might as well remember my suggestion - start from the back of the book, where there are secrets that will lead you deeper into the book. Let us find inspiration together in the learning community of “Vista Book Club” and move towards our dreams and goals together. You are welcome to join us in reading together, and let us discover the infinite possibilities between the pages of the book.
