First trip to India with a group [North India Golden Triangle 8 days] Part 3: BHARATPUR

After leaving Jip and before arriving at Agra, we visited the scenic spots in the Bharatpur area along the way (Bharatpur, translated by Google as Bharatpur)

【Day4-1】Underground Palace (CHAND BAORI), also known as Moon Well

[The first time I went to the Golden Triangle of Northern India with a group for 8 days Part 3 BHARATPUR - Cover image](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_ZcqsquAeIhXt77K1V3Fpp7OcLeeFOyO6pcPhd_dffa72Nz2xlB ZxEbiTQZ0G75S2D37BiNtQbXOSimG7TBTiV8bMTIOiMhHZRNyLSJUHQbSWoneCL6yMdZ_NBGfFq92vOOYhWl3RFQ/s1600/IMG_5236_edited.jpeg)

This sci-fi movie-like scene is a summer palace built 1,300 years ago. It was only discovered by British archaeologists in 1919. It was actually 11 stories deep. It is said that there was another floor underneath to hide the jewelry, which successfully avoided the Turkish invasion. After the king finished building it, he killed ten construction workers, so even the queen didn’t know about this floor! It is also the filming scene of the movie “Marigold Hotel”!

【Day4-2】Hashat. HARSHAT MATA

This temple is right next to the underground palace and was excavated together. You can see many gorgeous stone carvings, but most of the faces were destroyed by Islam. You can only imagine the ingenuity of the past from the remaining ruins.

【Day4-3】Keoladeo National Park

这也是UNESCO世界文化遗产,印度的世界遗产共有36个,我们这趟就去了8个! Keoladeo National Park was officially declared a protected area in 1971 and is home to more than 230 species of birds. The tour guide said that because it is now the dry season, there are fewer tourists and there may be fewer wild animals.

We took a rickshaw and watched the surrounding landscape change from arid to wetland, and we began to meet cows, monkeys, and peacocks. We stopped to watch water birds. The ecological tour guide with a super telescope said, you are so lucky, you encountered a red-necked crane today! Then we encountered a very special owl, and it seemed like we were really lucky today!

今晚住的是皇宫改造的饭店,感觉一下国王的生活吧! We stayed in an authentic old hotel. Because it used to be a palace, the layout of each room was the same. After comparing the room types of the group members, we found that the color schemes were also different. The light switch is so old-fashioned and so cute.

I think the bathroom is so beautiful.

The floor tiles and atrium of the old building are also very beautiful.

The cloisters and buildings are very suitable for taking photos, weddings or online photos (?)! I don’t know why, but Indian clothing and accessories use very heavy colors, but the architecture is very refreshing. I like it!

The restaurant is in the new building and is very grand.

Just as we were enjoying dinner, the door suddenly popped open. It was windy and raining outside at some point. It was said that a tornado could be seen! We continued our dinner amidst the howling like a typhoon and laughed at ourselves. Fortunately, we were trapped in the restaurant and didn’t have to worry about not having anything to eat.

When I read the news the next day, I learned that India was hit by the worst typhoon in its history. It was said that hundreds of people had died. At this time, I became even more convinced that I was really lucky today! But in the early morning, I saw the sunrise bright and everything was peaceful. Standing on the top floor of the palace, I could still imagine how the ancient kings looked down on his country. 【Day5-1】Fatehpur Sikri, also known as the City of Victory

[![First trip to North India Golden Triangle with a group for 8 days Part 3 BHARATPUR - [Day5-1] Fatehpur Sikri), also known as the City of Victory](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhha9uLhpddpNdhJ7-5HAY2NWqTNDRHKLjMzAE5Y AyGa1fkuJQ_8q9xqwvQBtAAvlJRu-v74lYTafpJb6mh4ruSWK8-OxDx5aAuamiq5NGEjZ-Z4ad-Ok0OlaxTsleXgTHuPd2NO0EsKg/s640/IMG_551 9.JPG)](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhha9uLhpddpNdhJ7-5HAY2NWqTNDRHKLjMzAE5YAyGa1fk uJQ_8q9xqwvQBtAAvlJRu-v74lYTafpJb6mh4ruSWK8-OxDx5aAuamiq5NGEjZ-Z4ad-Ok0OlaxTsleXgTHuPd2NO0EsKg/s1600/IMG_5519.JPG)

Fatehpur Sikri means “Victory City”. It is the third generation royal palace and one of the few royal palace buildings left in India. (The first two generations of royal palaces were in Afghanistan, the fourth generation moved to Kashmir because of the heat, and the fifth generation moved to the Taj Mahal.) However, after it was ruled by the British, all the buildings in the territory were owned by the public.

The castle built of red sandstone is very conspicuous. It was originally built by Nepalese, so it has a certain Nepalese architectural style.

It is said that King Akbar the Great had 47 wives and 91 children. The wives had various beliefs, so there are prayer rooms of different religious styles in the city, and there is also a special kitchen for Hindu wives. This is an exquisite decoration outside the kitchen, inspired by earrings:

Different religious elements can be seen everywhere in the building, such as Buddhist lotuses, Islamic zigzags, Christian arches, and Hindu patterns. It is also known as the “Pompei of India”.

In order to learn different religions, the illiterate king set up a special living room. He studied with four religious teachers every day and built a library to invite teachers to study. Therefore, the living room was designed in a square shape to represent the four religions. The pillar in the middle symbolizes the sun where energy is concentrated.

It is speculated that the king married so many wives in order to harmonize with various countries and religions. Being a king is really not easy, and his private life has been confiscated~
