Speaking of Mr. Wang Yongfu (https://www.facebook.com/afuwang), who is known as “Brother Fu”, everyone may be familiar with it! Many people know that he is a well-known presentation lecturer and teaching coach. He used to offer internal corporate education and training courses at top 100 listed companies such as TSMC, MediaTek and Google, and the open classes he occasionally held for the outside world were even more packed!
Facebook said that Brother Fu and I met in September 2010. In other words, not only do we have more than 335 mutual friends, we have known each other for more than ten years! Brother Fu’s persistence and enthusiasm for teaching are most admirable!
Ever since I learned that Brother Fu was going to open the online course “Teaching Technology: Professional Lecturer’s Secrets of Flipped Classroom”, Like many of my friends, I am looking forward to it. Not only did I sign up for the group early, but I also held the [Offline Experience Night] (https://www.facebook.com/presentology.afu/posts/3412602545429967) held at Chengbang Study Room on August 22 to see Brother Fu’s teaching style in person!
On the night of the event, in addition to being the first to experience the charm of “three machines and three mirrors”, I also participated in a small teaching and learning experience with several friends sitting nearby. In just two hours of experience, I not only got to watch Brother Fu’s movements in person, but also solved some questions about teaching. Of course, like many people, I am also looking forward to the official launch of the online course on August 31!

Step-by-step learning experience
Finally, when Fu Ge’s online course was officially launched, although only Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 were released in the first phase, I knew that there was a lot of information in it and I had to digest and absorb it well. I originally wanted to read two chapters in one go, but I also know the principle of “biting off more than you can chew”, so after browsing the two units of the first chapter, I decided to read the first chapter first, and then move on to the second chapter after taking summary notes.
To be honest, I am no stranger to the various teaching techniques mentioned in Chapter 1, such as the narration method, the question and answer method and the group discussion method, which are also techniques that I often use in my daily classes. But as the saying goes, “Everyone can change tricks, and the tricks are different.” Although I have understood the truth for a long time, from Fu Ge’s honest sharing, I still saw my own shortcomings in the teaching process.
Just like the drill method, many teachers may know what to say to students and ask students to do it, but they may accidentally miss the “do it for you” link in the middle. In addition, the sandwich feedback method also impressed me deeply.

Of course, there are also some small details that I have noticed myself, which seem to echo the teaching skills taught by Brother Fu. For example, when using the group discussion method to practice, I will invite the entire group of partners or at least two students to come on stage to gather centripetal force through joint participation.

High-standard production of online courses
Although I have just finished reading the first chapter of the online course “[Teaching Technology: Professional Lecturer Secrets of Flipped Classroom] (https://hahow.in/courses/5ed70db89afae672fd4a07c9/main?item=5eda0f07c55b503206ac15e1)”, I can already deeply feel the dedication of Brother Fu and all his team partners.
Affected by the COVID-19 epidemic raging around the world, online learning has become an internationally recognized trend in the past few months. Looking back on my own teaching and learning experience, and then reviewing my own experience in producing online courses, I know very well that Brother Fu has not only created a peak in online course fundraising in Taiwan this time, but also in many aspects such as course design and development, people have long been unable to see the taillights!

In the past, I could only envy the high-level, high-cost, top-notch online courses abroad like Masterclass. Now I finally see domestic lecturers reaching such a level.
