When you think of copywriting, what comes to mind? Do you think it’s only related to product sales or fan club posts? In fact, this is not the case. Copywriting involves a wide range of aspects. I happened to read a foreign article today titled “Why is UX Copywriting so Important in Product Design”. The article mentioned the close connection between copywriting and user experience.
This passage from the author really touched my heart:
Writers are designers in a sense.
──Just like designers play with colors, shapes, and icons to create excellent interfaces and user experiences, writers are good at using vocabulary and sentence structure to create excellent articles.
Not only can they write wonderful articles, but more importantly, writers can often use words to help solve design problems.
This also reminds me of my feelings running the website “Content Hacker” in recent months. Last winter, I started running this website, and later invited Mr. Bai Xiong to write together. Not only do we often write many articles related to copywriting, media communication, content marketing and even growth hacking, but we also share with you the cases of well-known domestic and foreign manufacturers through the “Content Hacking” lectures held every month.
I very much hope that through my own efforts, I can share the experience I have accumulated in the past with more friends, and thereby help cultivate more “content hackers” in Taiwan. In my opinion, the spirit of “content hacking” is not just about being able to write copy or perform content marketing. More importantly, it requires a growth mindset and the ability to interpret data and learn from the past.
I read this article today, and it feels like I have found a soulmate. Today, when everyone begins to recognize and pursue user experience, don’t ignore that copywriting is also an important part of User Experience.
Through writing, we can face design problems that we have never encountered before. Naturally, writers also need to use more refined and rigorous words to answer questions that potential customers may raise.
It is true that those who can only write persuasive copy are only powerful craftsmen at best, but a well-educated writer must be able to “see the forest for the trees” and grasp the overall situation from a commanding height. In this way, not only can he write smooth and smooth articles, but he can also make the product experience more comprehensive and perfect.
In the process of writing, we often need to pay attention to many details - from the writing of punctuation marks to the expression of opinions and arguments, they are all worth spending a lot of time and careful consideration. For example, if you want to write a suitable copy, it must not only match the charm, characteristics and temperament of the entire product, but also take into account the usage scenarios, feelings and needs of the target users.
Copywriting has its own set of methods and logic, but it also requires a lot of observation, practice and accumulation, and cannot be learned overnight. Instead of teaching some quick routines, I pay more attention to the establishment of mentality and concepts, and this is also the original intention of planning the [“Content Power” online course] (https://content.tw/power/). I hope that through online courses, more friends can save the trouble of traveling and travel, and can quickly learn a set of logic and methods of content production.
I also firmly believe that as long as someone can point out the correct writing concepts and practice diligently, all these efforts will not be in vain! Don’t worry about poor writing, let’s improve content power together!
