Glimmer in the classroom: When AI text generation opens up a new way of learning
When the early morning sunlight shines into the classroom through the window, I open my laptop and prepare for today’s class. This AI course offered by the Department of Journalism has entered its second week. Today’s topic is AI text generation and prompt word technology, which can be said to be very close to the students.
Projecting the presentation on the screen, I started teaching, while the students in the seats still maintained their usual quietness and restraint. I explained and tried to interact with them.
However, this silence only lasted for half of the class. When the practical session began, the situation changed somewhat. When I have students actually use AI tools like ChatGPT to generate text, the whole classroom suddenly comes alive.
Students began to lower their heads to discuss, and some began to enter instructions on computers or mobile phones, trying to understand and control this technology. Looking at their enthusiasm, I couldn’t help but feel gratified - this is the purest form of learning. Only when the students really start to operate, the knowledge truly begins to be internalized.
At the end of the course, I invited three groups of students to come on stage to share their results. Some students’ works were surprising and even more creative than I expected! And this kind of progress makes me feel an inexplicable sense of satisfaction. Perhaps, as a teacher, the greatest achievement is not how much knowledge is explained, but igniting students’ passion for learning and allowing them to begin to explore possibilities that they had not expected.

After class, I took the MRT and came near the Arena Station. After a brief search for food, I went to Starbucks on Dunhua North Road and met a friend. She has worked in the medical industry for many years and now has a place in the industry. This time we met, we just wanted to talk about the combination of the medical industry and the internet celebrity economy.
“Now doctors also need to manage their personal brands,” I said with a smile. “The influence of the health and medical industry is greater than we imagined.”
She nodded and said, “Nowadays, many doctors have begun to operate YouTube, podcasts, and even short video platforms, because patients no longer just passively receive information, but will choose doctors they trust through social media.”
This conversation made me realize that the era of personal brand has fully arrived. Not only Internet celebrities in the entertainment industry, but also medical professionals have begun to use digital tools to build influence. This is not only a change in market trends, but also a change in the knowledge dissemination model.

After returning home, I opened my mailbox and saw that several students had submitted their homework. I browsed carefully, and it was obvious that everyone was more into the situation than in the first week. This growth trajectory made people feel particularly at ease.
At this time, another thing that is on my mind gradually emerged - my new book will be officially published tomorrow!
This is a wonderful feeling, neither nervous nor excited, but a subtle state of anticipation and apprehension. This book condenses the thoughts and efforts of the past period of time. I hope it can touch people who are interested in this field, and I also hope that it can provide substantial value to readers.
The birth of every book is a dialogue with the world. And now, my words are about to flow further afield, waiting to resonate with different readers.
