Thank you to Teacher Sun Zhihua for hosting this “Taiwan Lecturer Shanghai Development Practical Exchange and Sharing Session” for giving me the opportunity to listen to Teacher [Chen Wanyu] (https://www.facebook.com/iRCBG) (Rachel) share her practical experience in working hard in the mainland in the past few years.

After listening to this sharing, Teacher Rachel asked me on WeChat, “Will you write another article tonight?” The answer is of course yes, not only because of her selfless sharing with her lecturer friends, but also because these two sharings touched and inspired me.
Regarding Teacher Rachel’s sharing, I briefly mentioned it in my previous article “[How do you become a well-known lecturer on both sides of the Taiwan Strait? Start by re-understanding yourself and building content curation capabilities] (https://www.contenthacker.today/2018/04/content-curation.html)”. Friends who are interested can click to browse.
In this article tonight, I would like to talk about some other observations and gains.
Although this is my second time listening to Teacher Rachel’s sharing, I still gained a lot. And tonight I also tried to use the “curtain” recommended by her to organize my thoughts. You can refer to the mind map at the end of the article.
In the corner of one of the presentations, Teacher Rachel wrote, “Education is not about indoctrination, but about rekindling the flame.” This sentence is indeed very meaningful, and I believe it will also be enlightening to the lecturer friends who are present today. How to arouse learners’ interest is of course the responsibility of the lecturer, but if you want to be active in the fiercely competitive mainland training market, you must also be remembered deeply.

This is the second time I have seen this slide, and I have a deeper understanding. As I often mention to my classmates in online marketing classes, before investing in social marketing, you must take a good inventory of your own resources, and you must have a deep and correct understanding of the market and target audience. Similarly, lecturers who want to enter the mainland market really need to re-understand themselves.
Not only do you need to understand your own expertise and strengths, but you also need to have a complete understanding of the market and target audience so that you can know where you stand and the value and benefits you can bring to your customers. I heard Teacher Rachel mentioned that she entered the board game field from the financial circle, and then moved to the training market. All this seems logical, but no one knows how much effort she has to put in behind this success?
──Just like the famous saying mentioned by Ke P in a recent speech: “Don’t envy others’ success, often you can’t afford the price!”
One minute on stage, ten years of hard work off stage.
In fact, I have known Teacher Rachel for a long time. Looking at her transformation from the girl with a slightly youthful attitude back then to the teacher who stands calmly on the podium today, the transformation is not small. I also believe that her experience in the mainland market in recent years has given her a lot of shock and nourishment.
Since most of the friends attending the sharing session tonight are professional lecturers, Teacher Rachel also spent a lot of time sharing with everyone some key words that are essential for moving forward in China.

Knowledge realization, case analysis and consulting are the three keywords that Teacher Rachel gave everyone. For specific implementation guidelines, please refer to the slide above. For lecturers who are interested in exploring the mainland market, Rachel recommends that you develop your own copyright courses and be able to focus on teaching and dismantling classic cases.

Tonight, Teacher Rachel also shared with you several plans that she plans to implement in the future, including:
-
Enterprise gamified teaching aids + course training.
-
Gamification project creation.
-
Knowledge realization and content curator training.
In terms of course training, she will next launch a development plan for cross-strait lecturers, including: basic lecturer training, theme lecturer training, mainland market product lecturers, and lecturer project cooperation, etc. Friends who are interested in joining are also welcome to participate in this project.
Teacher Rachel also shared her recent valuable experience in developing “Games Change the World” Intensive Reading Class, and suggested that friends who are interested in entering the cross-strait lecturer market should develop into content curators.
She believes that if you want to be a content curator, you must take into account the following three aspects:
-
Content gist: There should be a clear theme and more concise key points can be listed.
-
Technical quality control: To ensure audio quality, pay attention to the sense of object and narrative when recording.
-
Marketing pain points: Marketing based on user scenarios to understand the real needs and pain points.
For lecturers who are interested in entering the mainland training market, Rachel also mentioned that it is not enough to specialize in a certain field. You must also create a fan economy and establish social media that can bring your own traffic. She also mentioned Kevin. Kevin Kelly’s “One Thousand Fans” theory means that an artist, musician, photographer, craftsman, actor, animator, designer, video producer or writer only needs to have 1,000 sincere fans to make a living.
To be a successful creator you don’t need millions. You don’t need millions of dollars or millions of customers, millions of clients or millions of fans. To make a living as a craftsperson, photographer, musician, designer, author, animator, app maker, entrepreneur, or inventor you need only thousands of true fans.

This also reminds me of the “Business Thinking of Professional Lecturers” led by Mr. Sun Zhihua, and the “[Human Resources Weekend] (https: //www.facebook.com/hrfriday/)” and the “Presentation View: Lunliu Lai Briefing” recently run by teacher Zeng Guolun are actually very good attempts!
Recently, I also organized a learning club for my online course. The monthly “Content Hacker” Lecture is also planned to be revised in May… I think these efforts are necessary, and the speed must be accelerated!
If this sharing makes you a little uncomfortable, it means you are growing.
There is a saying that says, “Knowing, realizing, and doing is the only way to truly gain.” Let me once again express my inner gratitude. Thank you Rachel for your generous sharing. Listening to these two sharings not only broadened my horizons, but also gained a lot of inspiration, and also guided me to a path to a better future.
