The concept of “Flywheel Effect” is: the transformation from good to great does not rely on a decisive action, a grand plan, a little luck or Waiting for a miracle to happen is like pushing a huge and heavy flywheel. You have to push hard and turn it round and round. The flywheel rotates faster and faster, gradually accumulating kinetic energy. Finally, at a certain moment, the flywheel speeds forward with irrepressible kinetic energy, creating a soaring achievement!
On the evening of January 5, 2021, I listened to a lecture on the theme of “Personal Business Model Design” delivered by Krenz at the [Business Thinking Academy] (https://www.bizthinking.com.tw/). Krenz, known as “K Big” in the world, is the founder and chief lecturer of KRENZ’S ARTWORK (KK Magic Academy).
K University, who graduated from Yuan Ze University’s Department of Information Communication, has been working as a freelance artist since 2009. She is good at drawing beautiful girls with melancholy eyes. He is unique in the processing techniques of light, shadow and color, and is also very good at teaching and application of painting.
In addition to offering physical and online painting courses, he has also been invited to attend lectures at schools and institutions at all levels at home and abroad to share his experience in painting creation. Since 2009, he has been studying 2D drawing creation techniques related to animation art, and has successively offered courses focusing on art basics such as perspective, dynamics and color.
Although he is respectfully called Big K, Krenz is actually still very young. To put it bluntly, K University is actually my junior student in the Communication Department of Yuanzhi University (except that he is studying in the undergraduate department, while I am studying in the graduate school). Although we have both dabbled in multimedia technology, he is extremely talented and successful in the field of fine arts and painting, while I love text creation and have yet to accomplish anything…

K University shared his personal business model with everyone without reservation, and thoroughly explained his entrepreneurial thinking and [Hakka spirit] in this keynote lecture at 1.5 times speed (https://chiculture.org.hk/tc/china-five-thousand-years/1009).
In the book “Asiatics”, the British scholar Buckenton cited the Hakkas’ hard work, endurance, frugality, generosity, unity, patriotism, daring and other advantages, praising the Hakkas as “cheese on the milk”, and finally believed that “the Hakkas’ spirit is the spirit of Asia.”
K University and I did not know each other when we were students. We had more communication with him through the “Full Subscription” community. Later, I heard his public speech or sharing many times. Although I have long been familiar with the entrepreneurial story of K University, I benefited a lot from this theme lecture last night. I took more than ten pages of notes on my iPad, and to be honest, I got a lot of inspiration.

If I want to make a conclusion first, this is not only a course that those engaged in education or training should take, but also a theme lecture worth listening to for many friends, creators and even knowledge workers who are interested in starting a business!
Next, let’s talk about three key points that inspired me in last night’s keynote lecture:
- Synergy: As both an entrepreneur and a creator, time (or, to be precise, concentration) must be the most precious resource. Therefore, K University attaches great importance to “synergistic effect”, that is, can it achieve 1.5 times or even double or triple the benefits while doing one job?
For example, there are many good painters in the industry who take on projects to make a living, but they often only get a fixed remuneration for painting for clients. However, the fast-thinking K University knew how to find another way and tried to actively negotiate with the industry to try to get the paintings to be self-published and even used as materials for lectures and course teaching. In addition, he boldly videotaped his painting or teaching process and turned it into an online course, which can be said to amplify the energy of creation to the extreme.
- Scale: Many business operators attach great importance to profits, but I noticed K University’s pursuit of scale. Whether it’s the size of the fans, the community, or the size of the work and team, he has his own opinions.
For example, he mentioned that as a lecturer or creator, you need to accumulate at least 5,000 to 8,000 fans before you can circulate yourself, break through the stratosphere, and extend your tentacles outside the circle. K University said something last night: “Only when you reach a certain scale can you see an inflection point in career development.” It reminds me of the “I love writing notes” community I run. Although it is “Buddhist management”, it seems to be following a similar trajectory!
- Standardization: For bosses or entrepreneurs who want sustainable operations, standardization is naturally a very important thing! But K University not only standardizes the course content, but also standardizes the submission of homework by students and the correction of homework by teaching assistants. This is incredible!
Standardization may sound simple, but those with real teaching experience will know the difficulties and subtleties involved. Each student’s background and needs are different. At this time, it is necessary to think about a teaching solution. From the marketing funnel used by KK Magic Academy, it is not difficult to see K University’s design ingenuity at each stage and its precise market positioning and segmentation. What’s even more powerful is that the moat he built can effectively prepare for business operation and expansion. Well, although this part was not covered much in last night’s lecture, it is still worth pondering and learning.
In my opinion, K University not only has excellent painting skills, but also has unique business thinking. In addition, another very important point is that his ability to learn and integrate application is also worth emulating!
Although K University has long been famous, it still invests a lot of time and money in self-study every year. As the saying goes, “When you see a good person, think about it; when you see a bad person, you should introspect yourself.” Having said that, this is one of the reasons why I chose to join the Business Thinking School in 2021.

Through this theme lecture, K University not only generously shared his experience in the painting education market for more than ten years, but also showed more clearly how he designed his personal business model from scratch and gradually revised his development trajectory according to market demand.
He also shared his business strategies secretly, from book publishing and picture album sales to tips on converting physical courses to online development, as well as product promotion and community management.
