It has been raining for several days, which makes people feel upset. Despite this, I went to the [Times Book Cafe] (https://www.facebook.com/sometimesbookcafe/) near the MRT Longshan Temple Station as scheduled at noon today to participate in the event organized by [Book Fans Alliance] (https://www.facebook.com/bookfans2017/) and [Times Bookcafe] “Local Creation x Local Entrepreneurship” forum Taipei event hosted by Newspaper Publishing](https://www.facebook.com/readingtimes.fans/).

What is place creation?

When we talk about place creation, our neighbor Japan comes to mind. The term “Local Creation” originated in Japan. Its central idea is the trinity of “products, places, and people.” To put it in one sentence, it is the hope that places can combine geographical characteristics and humanistic customs, so that each place can develop industries that are most suitable for itself.

Place Creation is about constructing and nurturing the mutual relationship between people and their environment. Through extensive and dedicated management of local quality, creating shared value, community capabilities and cross-sector cooperation are the foundation of resilient cities and vibrant communities.



In order to face the problems of Taiwan’s total population decline, over-concentration of population in metropolitan areas, and unbalanced urban and rural development, the Executive Yuan has established the “[Local Revitalization Council](https://www.ndc.gov.tw/News_Content.aspx?n=114AAE17 8CD95D4C&s=0923C7F8671AA36C)” is composed of central ministries, local governments and private industry leaders and scholars and experts who are concerned about the field of local creation. The National Development Council is responsible for coordinating and integrating relevant resources of local creation of ministries and committees, and implementing and promoting local creation work.

Former President Lai Ching-te personally presided over the first and second meetings of the “Executive Yuan Regional Creation Report” on May 21 and November 30, 2017, and designated 108 as the [First Year of Taiwan’s Regional Creation] (https://www.ndc.gov.tw/Content_Li st.aspx?n=78EEEFC1D5A43877), and positions local creation as a national policy at the national security strategic level. In the future, with the vision of maintaining a total population of no less than 20 million, we will gradually promote immigration within the island and cooperate with the reduction of pressure in the capital area to achieve the goal of “Balanced Taiwan.”

Although I have seen many reports about “local revitalization” in the media before, and I know that the government is vigorously promoting relevant policies, it still feels a bit general. Successful cases of Japanese Satoyama Shitie

Consultant Chen shared a case of local entrepreneurship in Japan - “[Satoyama Jujo] (http://www.satoyama-jujo.com/)” hotel. With “creating experience” as the core, they turned the originally ordinary hotel into a physical media, where people can get unique experiences and touches.

When the needs of tourists changed from the functional needs of “wanting to soak in hot springs” to the emotional demands of “looking for a touch that matches their own values”, “wanting to experience new and different experiences”, “truly relaxing themselves” and even “valuable time with family”, this also prompted the founder to discover that “experience and discovery are the real luxury”.

For Juryo Iwasa, running a hotel is like running a magazine. This also reminds me of my classmate Mike from the Graduate School of National Taiwan University. He spent seven years building the “Ruisui Spring International Tourist Hotel”, which has finally started operations recently! In addition to realizing one’s own dreams, this tourist hotel is also responsible for conveying the beautiful concept of Hualien Ruisui’s local culture.

After listening to the sharing of two consultants [Chen Zhengting] (https://www.facebook.com/benba.chen) and Lin Jiawei, I learned that the key elements to promote “local regeneration” are:

Passionate stories of local entrepreneurs

Speaking of passionate people, it reminds me of the other two speakers today - Zhang Zhonghao, the founder of [Cura Pizza] (https://www.facebook.com/cura.pizza.cura.pizza/) from Wanhua, Taipei, and Zhang Zhejia, the founder of [Pinguo Bar] (https://www.facebook.com/PinguoBar/) from Yuanlin, Changhua. Although these two entrepreneurs run different businesses, they both have a strong affection for their hometowns.

This afternoon, I fully felt Zhang Zhonghao’s affection for Wanhua from his sharing. His pizza not only has Italian flavor, but also injects new blood into the old Wanhua.

Zhang Zhejia has unique insights into membership management. He pointed out that when the customer base becomes more diverse, membership management will become easier. In addition, he also shared his business methods, especially when he mentioned that “every action you take is to “screen and precipitate” your customer base,” I felt the same way.

Eyeball Marketing and Social Management Methods

She pointed out that there are so many artists and Internet celebrities now, but the key is to leave a deep impression on people; therefore, in the process of pursuing eyeball marketing, please keep in mind that “temperature” and “sense of participation” are key elements in running a community.



In addition, she also shared with everyone the land, sea and air strategy of social marketing: it is better to build momentum for the overall market from the perspective of the air force, and then the army will organize a ground promotion team for offline communication.
