Taiwan’s unique Father’s Day
Today is the annual Father’s Day. Every year on this day, I always miss my father very much.
But to put it bluntly, Taiwan seems to be the only one in the world celebrating Father’s Day today. According to Wikipedia, Taiwan’s [Father’s Day] (https://zh.wikipedia.org/wiki/%E7%88%B6%E8%A6%AA%E7%AF%80) is held on August 8 every year because the pronunciation of “八八” is similar to that of dad. Moreover, in terms of glyph, when the two characters “八八” are concatenated together, it looks like the character “father”. Therefore, August 8 is designated as Father’s Day, also known as “Dad’s Day”.
Because the epidemic is still severe, it seems that this year’s Father’s Day seems to be relatively deserted… In the past, Facebook was always filled with all kinds of photos of Father’s Day dinners or celebrations, but today there seems to be a lot less.

Missing my father’s figure
Speaking of my father, I loved and hated him when I was a child, but now I have nowhere to express my longing for him. It has been nearly twenty years since my father passed away, but whenever I close my eyes, his image is still vivid in my mind. Although it’s not popular to celebrate holidays at home, I still can’t help but post a family photo from my childhood. Just treat it as Father’s Day, right?
Well, I wonder if your family can’t celebrate Father’s Day? How do you like to celebrate this holiday? Feel free to share it with me, okay?
