On the eve of Taipei City’s lowering from alert level 3 to alert level 2, I took a ride to the mansion alone.
In the evening, there were not many people in the mansion. Looking at the lush and green National Taiwan University campus, it was my alma mater that I had not seen for a long time. The fourth section of Roosevelt Road, which used to be busy with traffic, has become a bit deserted now, which is really not what I am used to!
I strolled over to Elite NTU Store, ready to read and kill some time. Because this bookstore is located directly opposite National Taiwan University, there is always an endless stream of book lovers visiting. It is also a bookstore that I like very much. Because of the convenient location, many students from National Taiwan University always linger here. Unfortunately, due to the epidemic, I have hardly left home for more than two months, so naturally I have no chance to visit bookstores.
The entire first floor of the Eslite NTU store is covered with daylight glass, which happens to be the best view of the NTU campus. To be honest, I quite miss this scenery! But when I walked into Eslite tonight, the first thing I felt was that there were obviously fewer visitors!
As a hopeless bibliophile, I still miss the time I used to visit bookstores, so as soon as I entered the Eslite NTU store, I breathed in the scent of books and the familiar feeling from the past seemed to have returned… However, I was still not used to seeing only two or three kittens in the bookstore!

I couldn’t help but pick it up and read it again, and the feeling I had when I was writing came back to my mind bit by bit. I have recently started writing a new book, and I hope I can write more exciting chapters.
When I stepped out of the bookstore, it was already the time when the lanterns were first lit. There are still no people on Xinsheng South Road. I wonder if it will become particularly lively after tomorrow?
After 69 days of nationwide alert level 3, it will finally be downgraded to level 2 starting tomorrow… Well, I don’t know if everyone is looking forward to it? To be honest, the big stone in my heart has not been relieved, let alone any excitement and expectation! I think we all must calmly accept the new normal in the post-epidemic era.
Although the Central Epidemic Command Center has temporarily relaxed its restrictions and announced that it will lower the epidemic alert level to Level 2 from July 27 to August 9, everyone must not relax and continue to cooperate with epidemic prevention measures. After all, protecting each other’s health is the most important thing at the moment. Are you right?
