As long as it doesn’t rain, I will go out for exercise every morning and walk along the Minsheng Community. I can walk almost six kilometers without knowing it. The morning time is beautiful, but at five or six o’clock, most people are still sleeping. There are not many pedestrians on the road. Only scattered birds and stray cats can be seen, and there is no sense of the bustling atmosphere of the city.
Although I am not completely housebound, I occasionally go to convenience stores to pick up groceries or something, but after more than a month, I feel like I am almost out of touch with the whole world!
Normally I don’t have any special feelings about going out, but now my mood has changed completely. A few days ago, I learned that I was going to attend the Taipei Small and Medium Enterprise Knowledge Academy’s results presentation today. I felt a bit of excitement and fear in my heart. It’s really interesting to think about it. Although this results presentation was held online, for the convenience of the organizer, as a review teacher, I had to make a trip in person and took a bus to an office building at the intersection of Songjiang Road and Changchun Road.
Speaking of my relationship with the Taipei Small and Medium Enterprise Knowledge Academy, I have to start with my junior high school girl [Teacher Piao Piao] (https://www.facebook.com/piaopiaoclass/posts/10158584821492830). Thank you for her invitation, which gave me the opportunity to teach related courses on [e-commerce copywriting] (https://www.accupass.com/event/2102251326011909626459) to a group of partners who are preparing to start their own businesses for two consecutive years.
Originally, this series of [topic courses] such as “Business Management and Operation Plan Writing”, “Media Application for Online Sales” and “Brand and Corporate Image Establishment” were launched in April (https://www.doed.gov.taipei/News_Content.asp x?n=F28B775DFA6D1A44&sms=72544237BBE4C5F6&s=7EC89834704D9D40), the results conference should have been held in late May, but unfortunately, due to the raging epidemic that led to the three-level alert in Taiwan, it has been postponed until today.
No matter what, it is always a joyful and encouraging thing to meet the students of Knowledge Academy again. This online results presentation kicked off on time at 10 am. We interacted with students from all over the world through Google Meet. At the beginning, each student took turns sharing their plans in a presentation, and then the three judges participating in the meeting gave comments, feedback and suggestions.
Well, of course these are not a problem for me, but in the past, the results presentation conferences were held in a physical way, and I could directly interact with the students in two ways… Now, if the scene is moved to the virtual time and space of the online world, I can only watch everyone through a small split screen, which feels a bit unreal.

Having said that, whether it’s reading briefings, giving feedback, or giving scores, it’s all a rare experience. For example, it is not easy to take a group photo nowadays. You have to first open the computer camera, then pose in the most exaggerated or cute pose, and then let the organizer’s staff capture the picture and archive it. Think about it, it’s quite a bit of a hassle!
But having said that, I guess when everyone has the opportunity to see these photos in the future, they will miss this scene very much, right?
This online results presentation ended successfully at around 3 p.m. After finishing the review, I was ready to get up and leave. Seeing that it was still early, I strolled from Songjiang Road to Minquan East Road and walked all the way to [Sanmin Bookstore] (https://www.sanmin.com.tw/) on Fuxing North Road. Yes, I haven’t visited a bookstore for a long time, and I miss the rich smell of books!
Not visiting a bookstore for more than a month is extremely unbearable for me. Therefore, as soon as you enter the huge Sanmin Bookstore and see the many new books on the shelves, you feel like you are meeting an old friend! My horizons became particularly broadened, and my mood suddenly became more comfortable.
Although the customers in the bookstore all wore masks and could not see everyone’s expressions, I could understand each other’s inner feelings. Well, it really goes with the proverb, “There is a golden house in a book.” Every book lover has a rich heart!
