A friend once asked me: “Can you make money by writing an e-newsletter? If not, why bother writing every day?” I was stunned when I heard this question. To be honest, when I started writing the e-newsletter, I really enjoyed it! A friend also discussed with me the experience of running an e-newsletter. Basically, I agree with her point of view: Indeed, compared to podcasts, if you want to run an e-newsletter for a long time, it may be more difficult and less simple!
However, if you only evaluate whether it is difficult or profitable to do something, it would not be fun! For me, writing e-newsletters is not only a kind of self-talk and healing, but also has many unexpected gains. For example, I recently made some new friends because of the email newsletter. What’s even better is that I’ve reconnected with many old friends!
For example, last year I met a Hong Kong friend who was preparing to start a business. At that time, I exchanged letters and provided her with some advice. But later, due to the seriousness of the epidemic, and maybe everyone was busy, there was less contact. After listening to this friend’s business plan, a blueprint quickly emerged in my mind.
