The rise of “Gig Economy” is regarded as a work type in the 21st century and even in the future. Tetsushi Takimoto, a consultant from Japan’s McKinsey & Company, even encourages everyone to strive to become cross-field professionals. This means that in addition to having professional knowledge and experience, we must also develop cross-domain knowledge and experience so that we can survive in this changing era and come up with various solutions that satisfy the owners.

• The second question is, we may have the ability to make money when and where we want, on our own terms. But where to start?

This female writer is quite young, having just turned thirty this summer. After leaving her job in the media, she turned to the Internet in 2016. Not only did she set up her own website, she also served as a blogger and podcaster, and even contacted her employer through Twitter. Today, she has not only developed a number of side businesses, but her podcast has more than four million listeners, which can be said to be a fruitful success.

Reading this book made me feel very intimate and somewhat familiar. I think maybe it’s because the author’s experience is somewhat similar to my own? We are both from media backgrounds, but we also have the online identity of bloggers. Of course, based on our multi-faceted career development experience, we can naturally become hybrid workers and take into account the quality of life and flexible working hours through a flexible working style.

Looking back on my own work experience, I actually transformed into a corporate consultant, professional lecturer and columnist after leaving the 9-to-6 media job. At the same time, I used my favorite way to run my blog “Content Hacker” and the online community “Vista Book Club”.
