One person’s power is often limited, but if connected through the Internet, a well-designed and planned activity appeal may stir up many ripples.
Many people were talking about former US President Obama’s participation in the presidential election that year. Obama’s campaign team not only chose to participate in T witter, Facebook and other social networking sites have been exposed, and be careful to compete with netizens for feelings.
The grassroots power of social networking sites
Obama is no longer a lofty politician, but a presidential candidate who works with ordinary people. Through social networking sites, he adds fuel to the fire, making this “grassroots campaign” model even more powerful. Voters can review Obama’s words, deeds and schedule at any time, and can also influence the campaign team through the power of interpersonal relationships, and gain a deeper understanding of the “Change” policy that Obama wants to promote. Is it a powerful strategy, or is it just a campaign slogan?
When its four wings work in harmony, the dragonfly is the only insect that can move in any direction at incredible speeds. This ancient beneficial insect illustrates the importance of “unity and cooperation” and also reveals that “small actions can lead to big changes.”

Four wings of dragonfly
Reading “Dragonfly Effect”, the most interesting gain is from what the author calls “four wings”(https://dragonflyeffect.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/social_media_in_a_box.pdf): grasping the key points, catching the eye, building relationships and taking actions to connect the context of the entire interpersonal community. Then, from each wonderful case (such as Obama’s campaign for US President, Harrison’s charity water organization, etc.), we will deconstruct the most subtle interactions between people.
According to research by Nielsen, an American market research company, Americans spend nearly a quarter of their time on social networking sites every day. The social networking sites used the longest are Facebook, Blogger, Tumblr, Twitter and LinkedIn. I believe Taiwanese netizens have been playing Facebook, Plurk or PTT (Public BBS) for a long time. From now on, when everyone uses social networks, you might as well think about how to make good use of the power of these “Four Wings”!
