If a company already has an official website and fan pages, why does it still need to run a blog?

This morning, I hosted a corporate reading meeting on “Traffic Pool” at City State Group, and talked with everyone about the thinking of traffic pools and Growth Hacker. After the book club, I made an appointment with a writer to meet at a coffee shop on Songjiang Road. We discussed the establishment and operation of the official website and blog, and also provided her with some suggestions.
Friends who are familiar with me know that I often encourage everyone to write blogs. Some people say that I am like an evangelistic ambassador for blog promotion! Not only because I have been responsible for the operation of the Leduo blog platform in the past and know the benefits of running a blog, but also because I have made many good friends from all over the world through blogging over the years.
Or, as an entrepreneur friend [Xiao Guan] (https://www.facebook.com/jackylec/posts/10156872810304194) said: “One benefit of writing is that in order to be productive, you must open your senses to understand everything this world has to offer. Use these insights to reflect and adjust, and also gain readers through output to support your motivation for continuous progress, so that your life will get better and better…”
If you want to build a personal brand, running a blog is a good start. But for a company, what is the significance and value of writing a business blog? I think that in addition to official websites and fan pages, if companies can also have dedicated personnel to run blogs, there will actually be many obvious benefits:
-
Provide customers with useful information and value.
-
Show that your company is an expert in its industry.
-
Collect potential customer lists and emails.
*Sell products through content marketing.
- Increase exposure and increase brand awareness.
As for how companies should start building and operating a blog? I suggest you “start with the end in mind”. First think about whether the purpose of your business is to promote, expose, collect lists, or sell. Then outline the market and target audience, and then use the [Content Calendar] (https://www.contenthacker.today/search?q=%E5%85%A7%E5%AE%B9%E8%A1%8C%E4%BA%8B%E6%9B%86) to plan and manage your company’s content strategy.
According to a recent UMass Dartmouth study, there are more Fortune 500 companies blogging now than ever before and the increase from their most recent study is greater than in years past.
Of course, when creating an editorial plan for your corporate blog, don’t forget to put your customers and readers first, and review your company’s marketing and business goals from time to time to try to maintain consistency and create a unique style. In addition to diligently updating blog information, it will be more valuable if you can plan and create content together with target audience!
I have said before that content marketing takes time to gain benefits, and it also takes a while for business blogs to bear fruit. But no matter what, it’s never too late to start!
