As I mentioned in this article, yesterday was a busy day for me. Not only were there two brain-burning meetings arranged during the day, but attending Xdite’s “Lightning Development” lecture last night was a long-awaited highlight.

[Experiences of reading and listening to lightning development and strengthening problem-solving abilities to stand at the forefront and win the market - Figure 2](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1grGQhW0O9 6NJMzUgg-nXT3HAGnQvc7rPepOO7Zk3i0W4XFjePjYS6tWWvZlsIH0D87j3vnfo-UaC_vLqLIK 6Mf2XHQuk4XNndOeRCWIUF7lScN1PbCe9IOEpzdKoLia7AseYMGpDAdMZ/s1600/S__14925955 .jpg) Speaking of Xdite’s new book “[Blitzscaling: Win the market at the forefront, the golden formula for entrepreneurship from 0 to 10 billion] (https://goo.gl/zbErnR)”, I am not unfamiliar with it—not just because I have read the book “[Blitzscaling:”] that inspired her to write this book. The Lightning-Fast Path to Building Massively Valuable Companies](https://goo.gl/79vN8T)”, but I started reading it when Xdite wrote this book on Github.

Although I have read the manuscript several times before, I flipped through the physical book before the lecture officially started last night, and then listened to Xdite’s live sharing, and I really got a lot of inspiration. Sure enough, as Teacher MJ said, “These dry goods are really worth hundreds of millions!”

At the beginning of the lecture, Xdite shared with everyone why she wanted to write “Lightning Development”? At first, she just thought that building products should be like writing code, with documents and SOPs. Later, she also recorded videos to share some techniques with team members. After accumulating enough materials, she realized that she could write these development tips into a book.

I wanted to write a book that I should have seen seven years ago.

By Xdite

Since this book was put on sale on January 31 this year, it has achieved an astonishing result of two copies in just ten days, which shows the market demand and recognition.

Or as [Vice President Hwang Seok-hyun] of Computer Culture (https://www.facebook.com/caesarh/posts/10156519052014177) said, “If you start a business these days without any controversy, without any attack, without any It seems that it is difficult to make a lot of money by throwing shame and blood. It can be said that this book “[Lightning Development] (https://goo.gl/zbErnR)” has this characteristic regardless of the author or the subject matter, but to be honest, in terms of book sales and course registration popularity, it is much better than the themes of Wen Lianggongjianrang…”

Xdite mentioned in the book that she used the same method to create companies with the same effect three times in a row:

  • First time. It took me 2 months to build a full-stack camp, with a half-year turnover of 12 million yuan

  • The second time. It took me 45 days to build ico.info, and the investment amount on the site was 200 million US dollars in two months.

  • Third time. It took me 35 days to build otcbtc.com, and the transaction volume on the site exceeded 10 billion yuan in a year.

These entrepreneurial suggestions do not require a deep technical background. But you have to be mentally prepared. These methods do not mean that it is easier to make a product. Only this time, it can greatly increase the chance of success in your software business.

She talked about four topics in the lecture, including: How to start [entrepreneurship](http://xdite-smalltalk-blog.tumblr.com/post/18303489993/%E 6%88%91%E7%82%BA%E4%BB%80%E9%BA%BC%E6%83%B3%E5%89%B5%E6%A5%AD), how to survive, how to grow up and the most common traps you fall into. I was very touched by these topics, and I couldn’t help but recall that when I was the editor-in-chief of the magazine “Digital Times”, I often saw many entrepreneurial teams facing these problems.

Of the several entrepreneurial teams I interviewed back then, only a few are still active on the stage, but most of them have disappeared into the sea of people. This is actually the norm in the entrepreneurial circle. As Xdite mentioned in the lecture last night, entrepreneurship is an extremely cruel and endless competition, and “narrow escape” is not enough to describe the current situation.

[Experiences of reading and listening to lightning development and strengthening problem-solving abilities to stand at the forefront and win the market - Figure 3](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglj8cj4DF3WLcM4ARpbNjo3rYVf0lxg4_t3xoPFodCfKSLT4KNa NEk1CS0gR7CPHMfy2IepDuwo9EUx1OB7OUYltk97mqsZQVa6VfhPJlqg4AT4qrjj5RTj3m-rTsW_e46neG9OVfktc2T/s1600/S__14925932.jpg)

She pointed out that the reason why many people start a business is to prove that their idea is right, to prove that their product is great, or to prove that they are a good boss… But in fact, there is no need to prove yourself when starting a business, because whether something sells well or not is a matter of blinking.

Xdite also shared with everyone that she originally thought that in order to change and make a lot of money, she had to go through the following steps:

  • Go to work and learn skills.

  • Learn how to work as a team.

  • Learn to be a manager.

  • Learn how to do business.

  • Learn Bootstrap to do business.

  • Learn how to find VC.

  • Learn how to find the outlet.

  • Learn how to change the world and make big money.

[Experiences of reading and listening to lightning development and strengthening problem-solving abilities to stand at the forefront and win the market - Figure 4](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqCgA_Z5fANE3CfR987THrWmM2s5kGbKpFNdGhT0Bb5D6Hd6vyplZ0J6 h7i2m7ejeywkHoioQx46pdN1ZzAK1-Re3OkawKTTY0n0-07tnb7EqPMmuhyphenhyphenxhruATmGj03dk49UKshpAsXqC9O/s1600/S__14925927.jpg)

However, she soon discovered that she was wrong. In fact, all she needed to know was how to do business, learn how to find opportunities, and learn how to change the world and make a lot of money! Xdite also mentioned that during the past few years of starting a business in Mainland China, she was inspired by the Beijing entrepreneurial circle and her mentality changed accordingly: instead of thinking about “changing the world and making a lot of money,” she realized that the truth about the entrepreneurial circle is that the world is constantly changing, and entrepreneurs only need to seize the opportunity (seize the opportunity) and make a lot of money.

Xdite also gave an example, what is an opportunity point? Especially ideas that you think are not popular, products that no one is making, or products that few people are making, or you think other people’s products are too stupid… When you discover these characteristics, you may have hit an opportunity. The key is, have you grasped it? She also mentioned that ideas worth starting a business are often those that no one is grabbing, the existing solutions are crappy, stupid, and expensive, or you can beat everyone else with just your little finger!

Based on his own experience in Beijing, Xdite pointed out that if you want to successfully start a business on the other side, you can start from the following points:

*High gross profit.

  • High net profit.

  • Better than the market 100 times.

  • The team iterates quickly.

  • After the fight starts, you will have so much money that your opponent will give up fighting you.

[Experiences of reading and listening to lightning development and strengthening problem-solving abilities to stand at the forefront and win the market - Figure 5](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiaq4a_044MYQ1mRHiueI5dd7M-jdE9gZz_uTCLsnoEKckyHOBCe R0bPqFXcPMaMMAWRhkL4tut85tamXd8RXGy8uOhCEP_BCFSvBFbj8ngZD2CefGcbbmJBNi4a5t-jn4FbRyyfw18Kj_e/s1600/S__14925914.jpg)

Friends who are familiar with Xdite know that she usually reads a lot of books and buys many online courses. Last night, she also suggested that everyone might as well learn from the best seller in the world. The recommended book list is as follows: “[How to Sell Yourself](https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/CN11027832?utm_source=vista&u tm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201902)”, “[How to close every order](https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/product s/CN11027830?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201902)” and “[How to reach the top](https://www.books.co m.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/CN11327604?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201902)》.

She also mentioned to everyone that the growth hacking model currently popular in Silicon Valley no longer follows the order of AARRR, but should pay the most attention to retention, so it should be changed to RARRA.

First, you need to focus on Retention, then on Activation. Then move on to Referral and Revenue. The last step should be Acquisition. The very last step. Not the first one.

In conjunction with Xdite’s sharing, I also saw some clues from RARRA model. Many startups are constantly losing customers, so just attracting new customers cannot change the situation; in other words, only by providing value to users can they be willing to return. As Brian Balfour once mentioned, we should give priority to indicators that can truly reflect the overall real growth situation. And retention rate happens to be an indicator that reflects the true value of users.

When I heard this paragraph, it also reminded me of the [online course] (https://hahow.in/cr/content-power) I opened before. If I want to make persistent efforts to open a second or even third or fourth course, then I must first think from the perspective of the existing students.

Xdite also mentioned that we can learn from companies that have grown a thousand times, which is the global e-commerce giant Amazon. She mentioned that founder Bezos attaches great importance to free cash flow per share, and we can also see Amazon’s growth trajectory from each year’s letter to shareholders.

In an open letter to shareholders in 1997, Bezos issued the declaration that “everything must be considered in the long term” and stated his approach to Amazon’s business. He promised to make decisions with a long-term view and a focus on market leadership.

She also pointed out that most people’s entrepreneurial growth mindset is nothing more than: continue to increase gross profit (things are sold more expensively), continue to increase net profit (Cost Down), sell more items, and sell to a larger market. If you want to challenge a higher level of difficulty, you can consider starting a business on the other side of the country - the premise is that you must understand the purpose of going to China, understand the fierce competition in China, know how to sell in China, build a team in China, and even know the various advantages and disadvantages of starting a business in China.

If you want to start a software or cultural creative industry, you can go to Beijing to develop; if you want to develop hardware, Shenzhen is naturally your first choice; if you want to do e-commerce, there is no other choice except Hangzhou; as for the lively Shanghai, because there are so many interesting and fun things, it is easy for people to forget to leave, Xdite recommends staying in Taiwan.

When choosing entrepreneurial projects, many entrepreneurs only focus on market size and sales, but ignore aspects such as talent, collaborative environment, and supply chain. They even like to huddle with a group of Taiwanese for warmth, which is actually unhealthy for entrepreneurship.

[Experiences of reading and listening to lightning development and strengthening problem-solving abilities to stand at the forefront and win the market - Figure 7](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiCb6QouHpBNw7Vnxz3gFn-B65PhhJJVo1lKZngbm5-KNmgLJsoU M0MLPPsCIJ4vhTsAlL_3-adjqHhoCTHS2ZZE06n_GK7g6NTSpxgqCTXQmhsw7rShxfLsnZuaeSd0_R7v-RT6zawxskk/s1600/S__14925890.jpg)

When starting a business on the other side, competition is inevitable. Xdite gave an example. If a certain outlet is seen by 60 bosses, each of them invites 3 teams to work overtime, and each team has at least 6 people… Counting on the fingers of one hand, this means that there are 1,080 people competing with you at the same time!

──So, competition is inevitable, the only way is to fight for the speed of evolution and fission.

As for how to sell in China, Xdite mentioned that it can use public accounts, WeChat groups, prefer the fission of online courses and WeChat tools, and use text tools as media to interact and encourage stickiness. You may not be familiar with Fission Marketing. In fact, it is a popular term in the mainland entrepreneurial circle. The phenomenon of fission originated from the principle of atomic bomb explosion, which is that energy stimulates the explosion of atoms, and then stimulates other atoms to continuously split to generate energy. So, what exactly is fission marketing? You can refer to the following picture:

For example, [Xiaoetong] (https://www.xiaoe-tech.com/), invested by Ximalaya FM, is the technical service provider behind well-known paid-for-knowledge IPs such as Wu Xiaobo Channel, Ten O’clock Reading, Kung Fu Finance, Zhang Defen Space, Douban Time, and Fan Deng Reading Club. It is also a master of fission marketing.

[Xiaoetong] (https://www.xiaoe-tech.com/) claims to “let you have your own knowledge store in one minute” and provides 158 functions that comprehensively cover content monetization, user management, data analysis, marketing communication, community operations, independent brands, and multi-channel sales, forming an ecological closed loop of knowledge payment. Through tool empowerment, create greater value for knowledge payment practitioners and institutions.

Xdite also mentioned that building a team in China can be introduced through customers, communities, recruitment software, headhunters or employees’ friends. She especially recommended Boss Direct Recruitment to everyone, and pointed out that she used this service to recruit suitable HR candidates during the Chinese New Year this year.

[Experiences of reading and listening to lightning development and strengthening problem-solving abilities to stand at the forefront and win the market - Figure 9](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_Ws45It43HAf5Ww2H5HW13_RhJ9L5MiYQzYztL8hyphenhyphenuhOq oHPzqLm9CbvjFAZkEOMyglx7TzXdMnL_mWxMkS8BzhPG8ebgAWpjSPAkrvcHoIXV0sX4pl3ErBmH9V9aGeCNhcpesmdEbU4x/s1600/S__14925873.jpg)

Of course, in addition to the obvious resources and advantages on the table, starting a business in China is a highly competitive country. There are bound to be many unknown hardships and disadvantages. Xdite pointed out that the competition for entrepreneurship in Beijing is fifteen times that of Taipei! She also encouraged friends who are interested in going to the other side of the Taiwan Strait to develop their careers. In addition to having a clear understanding of China’s environment, they must also have the mentality not to return to Taiwan easily even if they fail.

Xdite also mentioned in the book that you can look for topics that are “only the last mile away”, and it is best to be topics that you are good at and can detect market changes. At last night’s lecture, some guests also asked about the difference between trends and trends? And how to grasp the trend?

Xdite believes that most of the trends that everyone sees in newspapers, magazines or online media are already established results; and the real trend is actually the market changes that are taking place. As for how to catch the trend, she suggested that everyone join more WeChat groups or check out some good public accounts, so that they can grasp the subtle changes from everyone’s discussions.

In fact, non-consensus arises from a deeper consensus. The so-called innovation is nothing more than returning to an ancient thing and doing it again with brand new methods.

Xdite mentioned last night that he should strengthen his ability to solve problems. As for how to grow in this lightning era? She also mentioned in the book that the first stage is naturally to build products at the hot spots and attack them with force. The second stage is how to use the existing network to maximize your distribution after achieving a high retention rate, and how to spread the virus on this network to establish a network effect.

Hearing this sharing reminded me of how I started to create the “Vista Writing Companion Program” more than a month ago… I found that although there are many books and courses on copywriting, there are actually very few writers or lecturers who can help users with writing needs to improve and grow step by step.

Although I was not sure about this plan at the time, I just started doing it because I felt the market atmosphere! Although it has only been implemented for more than a month and it is too early to talk about success or failure, it has also given me another experience and inspiration about “lightning development”.

[Experiences of reading and listening to lightning development and strengthening problem-solving abilities to stand at the forefront and win the market - Figure 10](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj_bhGiq5gB5gFIvySS7Lvzsh7Lx_YrJv2rdVXFyfEflvejKrI7o DKenxfXC4JqnQ_3O4zCvj2vwK_H6LJpbsbFV3rQmKxB8V1gO8wvIHq3L7LMKmYvhQNs5ejt13RobsRrJf_3zAc3qcqn/s1600/S__14925857.jpg)

Last night at the lecture, I happened to meet some [partners] of the “Vista Writing Companion Program” (https://www.contenthacker.today/2019/02/practice-makes-perfect.html). We all had a great time chatting. I also laughed and said that I should write a book “Lightning Writing” inspired by Xdite. In addition, I also talked to Erica about the “Number Power: Newbies Fighting in Groups” club she launched, and we agreed to review the financial reporting knowledge taught by Teacher MJ together.

After reading “Lightning Development” and listening to last night’s lecture, I understand that if you want to succeed in starting a business, you don’t have to plan a lot of functions to create a great product. Sometimes thinking too much can prevent opportunities from knocking on your door.

[Experiences of reading and listening to lightning development and strengthening problem-solving abilities to stand at the forefront and win the market - Figure 11](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhij51R1StzRKJ6GUOUHCKrXqEiuT3kR3MXvB3Q9g9xm4dovMhL7 zzAgyzwlz4DVUFsikWsvWTLEGGeaMcdX4pvUZwXWB7H2joge2yDFO-5G5UW_Nmjxr_wtCnF5p4HyWAcA5XQYqZlImSP/s1600/S__14925863.jpg)

If you want to improve your winning rate, you might as well start by taking a different path. Taking a different path can lead to a different scenery. Although the road ahead is still full of challenges, at least we can use low-cost iterations to gain an opportunity to start a monopoly.

Try to make bold assumptions, verify them with actions, and then find the best solution. I believe success is not far away…
