This morning, I saw a [short article](https://www.facebook.com/bestguy/posts/10155661980265864?comment_id=10155662017790864&reply_comment_id=10 155662024220864¬if_t=feed_comment_reply¬if_id=1499389707758622), the author is a good friend [Li Quanxing] who is currently the digital operating director of Condé Nast Birch Group (https://www.facebook.com/bestguy).
In this era where information is easily disseminated due to social connections, there is no longer a so-called “secret” advantage. What really determines the outcome is the business model, structure, execution, and especially execution. You know it, and others will soon have the opportunity to learn it, but if you have good execution, you will win!
This short article of less than 100 words touched me because I really think execution is very important, and this is also consistent with some of my recent observations in the workplace. I also remembered that I had read “[Zero Second Thinking [Action]: Instant Execution of Decision and Implementation]” written by a Japanese author [Yuji Akabane] (https://twitter.com/yujiakaba) a while ago (https://www.books.com .tw/products/0010742733?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201707)》. The author tells us that good leaders “make decisions immediately, make decisions immediately, and implement them immediately.”
In fact, everyone knows that the power of action is important, but why do so many people still fail to do it? The reason is actually very simple. It’s just because you don’t know what to do? Or maybe you actually know how to proceed, but you don’t want to face it calmly.
The book mentions six reasons why we should “judge, decide, and implement immediately.” They are: it can gain the upper hand, it can conduct several rounds of PDCA in advance, it can increase productivity, it can make people around you trust you, it can make subordinates act quickly, and it can inject vitality into the entire organization.
The elements that support “immediate decision, immediate decision, and immediate implementation” are actually very simple. The key lies in establishing a “holistic view.” The author also pointed out that some people’s minds tend to become confused, or they feel anxious and afraid because they do not collect information thoroughly. When I read this, I couldn’t help laughing, because I used to like to collect a large amount of information first, and then slowly summarize and organize it.
Although it is right to collect and dabble in information beforehand, it is often because too much effort is spent on it. Later on, one is prone to laziness or “starts but ends”, which is ridiculous when you think about it.
The biggest gap in the future world will not be the digital divide, because there will be no digital divide and everyone will be connected to each other (through technology). The biggest gap in the future will be the motivational gap.
In the discussion thread of that Facebook post, another friend Shi Dianzhi also [mentioned](https://www.facebook.com/bestguy/posts/1015566198 0265864?comment_id=10155662024365864&comment_tracking=%7B%22tn%22%3A%22R3%22%7D&pnref=story), now it is increasingly useless to make money by relying on information gaps! In other words, at a time when the information gap is gradually being bridged by technology and knowledge, the importance of motivation and execution has become even more highlighted.
GE CEO Imelt (Jeffrey Immelt) once [said](https://www.books.com.tw/products/0010693367?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=rec ommend&utm_campaign=ap-201707): “In today’s world of rapid changes, what affects success is not ‘what you know’, but ‘how quickly you can enter the situation.’” As you can imagine, if you want to enter the situation quickly, just “knowing” is not enough. Taking action itself is undoubtedly more critical!
