In recent years, in addition to teaching in companies and universities, and writing columns for certain media every month, I also receive some consulting cases. Based on my past work experience in the Internet industry and media, as well as my experience in the industry over the past few years, I will integrate some specific solutions and work hand in hand with the owners to achieve the predetermined goals.

What’s interesting is that cross-industry seems to have become a tradition, and the industries I have served range from media, publishing, technology to traditional industries, and the service scope is also quite diverse, including: website planning and construction, media communication and publicity, corporate image packaging, brand story writing, e-commerce operations and corporate self-media operations…etc.

As the saying goes, “every line is like a mountain.” At first glance, some of the above-mentioned fields may be very different, but if you look at them from another angle, it is not difficult to find similarities. Especially for some new brands, they usually don’t have much budget or resources at the beginning. If you want to take the first step to success, what should you do?

Here, I will help you summarize five must-do homework:

👉Lesson 1 Inventory of team resources

In addition to having good ideas and business models, starting a business will naturally complement each other if there are ample resources to use. However, start-up teams are usually limited by their scale. In situations where human and material resources may be scarce, they need to take a clear inventory in advance. If the strengths and weaknesses of the team are not fully understood, no matter how good the idea is, it may be full of uncertainties, leading to poor execution results, or deviating from the starting point of the original entrepreneurial idea.

👉Lesson 2 Set target audience

No matter how good the goods and services are, they are in vain if they are not provided to the “right” people. If you want to continue to receive orders, you must lock in the right target audience. Finding the right customers is not only the first step in marketing and promotion, but also a very critical step. To start setting the scope of your target audience, you might as well start with these three questions: Which groups will be interested in your team’s products and services? What motivates these people to buy? In what scenarios or situations will these goods and services be needed? What specific benefits or benefits can this product or service bring to these ethnic groups?

👉Lesson 3 Create value proposition

In today’s era of information explosion, it may not be easy to impress consumers by relying solely on product power. In addition to the value of the product itself, you may also wish to use emotional appeals or provide specific solutions. Only by establishing a clear value proposition and telling a touching brand story can consumers identify with your products and services.

👉Lesson 4 Planning Content Strategy

After setting the target audience and creating a unique value proposition, we also need to present specific thinking through the power of content. At this time, the planning of content production and the application of marketing strategies are very important! You can plan your own Content Calendar to produce content based on current events and festivals.

👉Lesson 5 Operating Social Media

In this era of heightened community awareness, new startup teams especially need to manage relationships with fans. In addition to effectively promoting your company’s products, more importantly, you can become friends with consumers, which can be used for content marketing and establish a good relationship with each other. In this way, consumers will have a better impression of your brand, and it will be easier to establish an emotional connection, and then they will be willing to buy, use and help promote it.
