Time flies so fast, and it’s the weekend again in a blink of an eye. The Lunar New Year holiday is over and everyone is returning to work. I wonder how you have been this week? Have you arranged time to read some good books?
In today’s program, I will also introduce you to three good books, namely: “Murphy’s Law”, “Ghost Thinking Technique” and “Compound Interest Thinking”.
“Murphy’s Law” introduces you to various psychological classics, such as Murphy’s Law, Matthew Effect, Prisoner’s Dilemma, etc. You must be familiar with them, right? This book is suitable for keeping on your desk, and you can take it out and read it when you have free time. It will bring you a lot of knowledge and reading pleasure!
This book starts from the perspective of self-awareness and economic management. The author introduces 68 laws or rules in the field of psychology and management that have many impacts on modern people’s work and life, such as: anchor effect, Wallenda effect, Hawthorne effect and Locke’s law. The seemingly difficult laws and regulations are cleverly presented in stories, which is of great help to understanding human nature and the unspoken rules of society and business.
Fujiwara Marina, a young writer from Japan, teaches everyone how to come up with ideas quickly through “Ghost Thinking Technique” to create diverse creative ideas.
The author started the “Useless Inventions” project of making useless things in 2013, and has produced more than 200 works so far, including “Internet Beauty Photo Destroyer Machine”, “A Scarecrow Machine That Knocked Five-inch Nails into When Someone Tweeted “BBQ"", etc.
While writing this book, the author continues to produce five to ten “useless inventions” every month and disseminate them to the audience through the Internet. Although it is a “useless thing”, it is still quite difficult to come up with more than one or two ideas every week and continue to implement the ideas. Even though no one asked her to do so, she still stipulated that she would make at least one “useless invention” every week. Therefore, the fear or anxiety-like emotions of not coming up with ideas were even more profound than others.
In the process of accumulating these experiences, the author has accumulated a unique way of coming up with ideas quickly and thinking logically. If you can follow the various methods included in this book to think creatively, you should be able to improve your imagination and make your thinking more flexible. In this way, you will be able to think about things with a different freedom than before.
As for the book “Compound Interest Thinking”, I think it is also quite interesting. The author starts from six directions: compound interest of thinking, compound interest of cognition, compound interest of time, compound interest of learning, compound interest of growth and compound interest of habits. He summarizes the “compound interest scenes” encountered in life from as many angles as possible, and includes: life, growth, work, business, etc. from a horizontal perspective; from a vertical perspective, he looks for the essential methodology from the definition, extraction, identification, case, screening, design, feedback, system, etc. of each thinking, so that people can gradually clarify their thoughts from the chaotic scene.
In other words, we can improve our way of thinking and working habits through these six dimensions. If we can practice it, it will not only help us accumulate wealth, but also improve the quality of life.
Although the themes of these three books are different, after reading them, I not only had the pleasure of reading, but also gained some knowledge, so I am happy to share them with you!
