Speaking of the book “One-Man Company: Why Small and Beautiful is the Future Development Trend of Enterprises”, I am not unfamiliar with it. Because I heard Brother Chang mention this book a long time ago, I looked for the original book and read it. Thanks to Yuanliu Publishing for introducing this good book. It not only gave me the opportunity to review the essence of the book again, but also allowed me to clarify the entrepreneurial thinking and practical route of “opening a one-person company”.
For friends who are interested in starting a business or developing as a freelance worker, this is indeed a valuable book. But for me, not only is this subject not unfamiliar at all, but I even feel a little close to it. This is because many years ago when I was the editor-in-chief of “Digital Times” magazine, I had dealt with the issue of “One Person.com”. Looking back now, the concept and context of “One Person.com” and “One Person Company” are really similar!
These one-person workers in the digital age, through apps such as Find new entrepreneurial opportunities on new online platforms such as Store or Kindle; or make good use of various digital tools to communicate with consumers and potential customers so that your expertise can be seen faster; or integrate these tools into the original work process to develop a unique business model. We call this new entrepreneurial option “[人人.com](https://belongnews.pixnet.net/blog/post/313320 64-%E2%98%85%E4%B8%80%E4%BA%BA.com%E6%99%82%E4%BB%A3%E4%BE%86%E8%87%A8%EF%BC%81%E3% 80%90%E9%99%B3%E6%80%A1%E5%A6%82%E3%80%8A%E6%95%B8%E4%BD%8D%E6%99%82%E4%BB%A3192)”.
It’s just that the development of some things is unexpected. At that time, I was just an editor-in-chief working in the media. Now, I am crossing the river by feeling the stones. Only you can really know the taste of this love⋯⋯

Although it rained heavily this afternoon, it did not dampen everyone’s interest in researching “opening a one-person company”, so we soon saw crowds of people gathering at the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi A9 Fayac. It was my first time to attend the “Work and Lifestyle Seminar”. Unexpectedly, I found that the venue was packed with people, except that I didn’t even see the grand scene of the stacking of Arhats! Well, I’m really lucky…
Of course, the reason why today’s event was so full is not only because this topic is a hot topic, I think it is also due to the personal style of today’s speaker Yu Weichang!

Brother Chang mentioned the changes of the times at the beginning. If you have any dreams, you should pursue them as soon as possible. Don’t wait until you retire to realize your dreams. Otherwise, if you are physically unable to bear the burden, everything will be in vain. I also agree with this idea, so I have to quickly adjust my life pace recently.
Brother Chang suggests that everyone might as well “begin with the end in mind”. You can first think about what you want in life? He came up with his own version: more money, less work, closer to home, freedom, longevity and respect. Travel frequently and spend more time with your children and family. More importantly, help others when you can.

Seeing this picture, I quite agree. Developing a personal brand is not necessarily about expressing yourself, but also about being able to help others.
This reminds me of the [post] I saw on Facebook yesterday by my former colleague and editor-in-chief of Perspective Magazine Xie Mingyu (https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_f bid=2932224503460460&id=100000188185702), he mentioned that the story of Ye Peixian, a disadvantaged student at National Cheng Kung University who worked hard to support her family and studies, as revealed in the June issue of the magazine, actually has a good follow-up. That is the group buying overlord [Mr. 486] (https://www.facebook.com/KK486/) pledged to donate Ye Peixian’s future tuition fees. Through the intermediary contact, Mr. 486 also visited Ye Peixian. Because of this article, it brought out even greater kindness. Under Mr. 486’s Facebook post looking for Ye Peixian, some netizens informed the Ministry of Education that there is a “school education savings account” that specifically raises donations for disadvantaged students. After confirming that it was true, Mr. 486 asked an assistant to sort out the medical expense cases and pledged a total of 3.02 million in one go to help these disadvantaged students. Rather than saying that Mr. 486 has built a strong personal brand in the past few years and his company has been making money day by day, the fact that he really helps the disadvantaged is even more admirable. Well, I am also very proud of this classmate from Minquan Elementary School!
Closer to home, the so-called “one-person company” is actually a novel business approach that focuses on getting better rather than bigger. Maintaining a small scale brings freedom, allowing you to pursue more meaningful pleasures in life.

The book mentions that more than one-third of the population in the United States is a freelance worker, and Taiwan may also follow this trend. Therefore, Brother Chang also encourages everyone to take stock of their own resources and strengths and try to find their advantages. If you really have no advantage, you might as well start by teaching friends who are worse than you. Just like the author Paul. Jarvis in [Chapter 9 of this book](https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/0010825335?utm_sour ce=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201907) mentioned that friends who want to develop a “one-person company” can really teach you everything you know!

畅哥提到,打造个人品牌需要有信任感,而最能够带给人信任感的多半是专家。 Having said that, if you want to be recognized as an expert by everyone, the shortcut is to publish a book.
I also feel this very much, not just because I have published [Copywriting](https://www.books.com.tw/products/0010794093?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_co ntent=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201907), computer teaching, novels and other topics, and because I deeply feel the benefits of publishing books - not just royalties and royalties, but physical books have helped me break through the stratosphere and expanded my reach in life and career.

Speaking of the hardships of running a “one-person company”, many people may encounter bottlenecks like the ones listed in this chart. No matter which stage you are at, you must think about ways to break through. Brother Chang recommends that everyone build their own sales funnel and then seek professional monetization.
In a one-man company, you are the dragon!

Brother Chang has helped you sort out the income list of Personal Brand, and I suggest you try it in many ways. Try not to limit yourself to the “Selling Professionals” box in the upper left corner, but step out of your comfort zone and bravely explore your own strengths.

At first glance, today’s lecture talked about a lot of topics related to financial freedom, but Brother Chang also reminded everyone to think about, how should we measure success? Is it simply based on the annual income from your business? Or how many lives have you improved? Or what specific impact have you left on the world?
While attending today’s lecture, the author’s words kept echoing in my mind. These words were not only touching, but also motivated me to bravely develop in the direction of a “one-person company”:
There are easier ways to make money or become famous in the world. Why do you want to work for yourself? What is the motivation that keeps you going when things get harder than you thought, or take longer than you expected? When you get caught up in the day-to-day grind of running a business, what makes your efforts worthwhile?
For myself, it just so happens that I like choices. I like being able to choose to make less money by turning down a project, a client, or a client that I feel is not a good fit for me. I love having the option to unplug for three months and go camping on a road trip through the American desert with my wife. I like being able to choose what I want to work on next, rather than just accepting what is handed to me. I love being able to work on Saturday (if I want to) and then go hiking on Wednesday. Having the freedom to choose is my North Star. Yes, it took some time to get to where I am today, and initially I had to accept not having as much freedom as I do now. After all, there are bills to pay, and sometimes the best client may not be the best fit, but he’s the one who’s in front of you right now and willing to pay your salary this month. But even in tough times, my goal—the freedom of choice—is what keeps me going.

Today, I was really happy to see many old friends and new friends at the venue. After the meeting, everyone not only took group photos, but also encouraged and encouraged each other to move towards the goal of opening a “one-person company”! I really want to thank Microsoft for organizing such a wonderful lecture, and also thank Brother Chang for his generous sharing.
