Purpose of design brief

I still remember that on the morning of April 24, 2019, I was invited to [L’Oréal Academy Taipei] (https://www.facebook.com/LorealAcademyTaipei/) (L’Oréal Taipei Institute of Technology) on Zhouzi Street, Neihu District, to share with the students of the “L’Oréal Professional Hairdressing Industry KOL Star-Building Project” on the topic of “Money-attracting and Eye-catching Content Marketing Techniques”. In just three hours, I started with mastering the elements of writing, and then introduced you one by one to various techniques and processes for setting target audiences, formulating content strategies, and engaging in content marketing, etc.

I remind everyone that whether you are writing or designing a brief, you must first think about the purpose and set the target audience. In other words, we have to figure out what is the purpose of writing or designing a brief? And which groups are these contents intended for? It is very important to formulate an effective content strategy. Only by clarifying these two points can the written content be effective and resonate with readers.

Briefing Strategy Perspective

This also reminded me of a book I was reading recently about briefings that talked about similar ideas. What’s interesting is that this book starts from the perspective of “briefing strategy” rather than simply talking about “briefing production” or “layout design” – maybe some people have guessed that what I read is “One Hit!” written by Zheng Junping. Presentation strategy book for professionals](https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/0010817343?utm_source=vista&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201904)》.

Unlike many books on the market about presentation design skills, the author clearly points out [this book](https://www.books.com.tw/exep/assp.php/vista/products/0010817343?utm_source=vist a&utm_medium=ap-books&utm_content=recommend&utm_campaign=ap-201904) will help everyone comprehensively grasp the basic concepts and strategic thinking of workplace briefings, allowing readers to think about how to lay out a successful briefing proposal.

He also quickly helps everyone sort out the relevant key points of briefing strategy. In addition to introducing the three most common types of workplace briefings (introductory briefings, informational briefings and comprehensive briefings), he also provides seven major tips to help readers establish a correct concept of briefing design.

Show your own point of view

I feel that through “One hit will hit!” “Presentation Strategy Book for Professionals” also allows everyone to understand that it is not as difficult as imagined to make a good presentation.只要把握一些原则,像是先沟通、再制作,最后不忘省思与检讨⋯⋯换言之,我们可以透过简报展现自己的观点,并与目标受众进行沟Pass to achieve pre-set goals; in addition, it can also be used to demonstrate personal logical thinking and strategic thinking.

After watching “One hit will hit!” Briefing Strategy Book for Professionals”, I feel that I have learned a lot. I also discovered that many of the concepts discussed in the book are actually similar to my own ideas. This time I had the opportunity to read this book, which also gave me a deeper understanding that presentation design is not just about communication expression and layout design, but there are many details worth exploring.

Writing articles and designing briefs

Just like when I often talk about how to write a good article, you must formulate a content strategy and set a target audience in advance. In fact, the principle of designing a brief is similar.

In the past, some friends in the industry often praised me for my presentations. To be honest, I am not a master of presentations. Apart from the fact that I am good at matching various styles of layouts according to the theme content, it may also be because I can master some principles of formulating content strategy and lay out the content according to the topics that the target audience is interested in!

There is indeed a lot of knowledge involved in designing briefings. People often ask me where to download layouts and materials, or how to make a book club presentation or business presentation in half an hour… Well, if you are interested, please leave a message and let me know. Maybe I can find time to hold a lecture to share it with you!
