I compiled more than 2,000 articles into a wall of golden sayings: You can use Vibe Coding to create products even if you don’t know how to program.

This article briefly records how I started from an idea and made a wall of golden sayings called underline. Its function is very simple: you can browse, search, and even share sentences that resonate with you, and each sentence can be linked back to the original text. What’s even better is that behind the scenes, they also silently help me count which words have the most clicks and shares.
And I want to say one thing first: I didn’t write even a single line of code on this entire wall that I can understand.
A thought: Those good sentences should not be buried by time
This story starts with me staring at my own backstage in a daze.
I have been blogging for many years and have accumulated at least more than 2,000 articles. This is a very happy thing, but it also hides a problem that I have never faced properly: those sentences that I wrote with great effort and would pause when I read them, are all sinking at the bottom of time. New readers will not easily turn to posts from two years ago, and even I have almost forgotten what I once wrote.
Content will flow away. You spend a whole night polishing a paragraph, send it out, be read by hundreds of people, and then sink, never having a chance to surface again.
I want to pick them back.
Instead of reposting two thousand articles, just like when reading a good book: pick up the pen and lightly draw a line under the lines that are most worth reading again. So I later called this wall “line”.
Once the idea comes up, the next step is the wall that every person with a non-technical background will hit: Who will make this thing?
I can’t write programs, but I can Vibe Coding
If it were me three years ago, this idea would probably stop here. Because to do this kind of thing, it sounds like you need to know the front-end, back-end, database, and deployment. Just thinking about learning these is already a big task.
Well, that’s different now. Now I can tell my thoughts directly to AI and let it write the program for me. I am responsible for judgment, choice, and maintaining quality. This thing is Vibe Coding (opens in a new tab).
I really like a sentence I once wrote. The process of “underlining” this time just verified it again:
Grammar is no longer the threshold, the threshold is whether you can explain the picture in your mind clearly. And to make this clear, writers do it every day.
Did you find out? Writer (opens in a new tab)’s advantages have been magnified in the AI era. Because the hardest thing about making a product is never typing, but figuring out what you want. And “think clearly and explain clearly” are the muscles we, those of us who rely on words, exercise every day.
So, I didn’t learn HTML syntax. The first thing I did was sit down and think through the wall in my head.
Think clearly about what you want first: this is the real job
Before I started, I forced myself to answer a few questions. None of these questions were related to programming, but they determined what the wall would look like in the end.
Does this wall need to be “extensive” or “fine”? I chose semen. Instead of cramming in thousands of sentences to dazzle people, it is better to strictly filter and only leave hundreds of sentences that really “want to read again”. Blank space is a kind of beauty and respect.
As for how to go shopping? I don’t want to arrange them by year, that would be too much like a running account. I chose to use theme partitions: one-person company, AI collaboration, writing, marketing brand, career work, and learning mentality. Adding an entry that says “Send a random sentence to me” allows people to rely on fate to come across a sentence that just fits today’s mood.
Each sentence must be able to be shared independently, and it must look good when shared. It must be able to connect all the way back to the original text and bring the reader back to the complete article.
Finally, I also want to know which words really hit home. Therefore, I want to silently note down how many times each sentence has been seen, how many people have clicked to read the original text, and how many people have forwarded and shared it.
You see, by now, I have actually finished designing the entire product. And I haven’t even touched a single step of the program. This is what I want you to see: in the world of Vibe Coding, the most valuable thing is not whether you can write programs, but the clear blueprint in your mind.
Let AI read two thousand articles, and I only keep one thing: true
Next, I asked AI to help me read nearly two thousand Chinese articles, pick out the most worthy sentences one by one, classify them into topics, and assign scores.
But there is a line here that I stick to from beginning to end: the golden sentence must be the “exact word for word” sentence in my original text.
I don’t want AI to “retouch” it for me. I don’t want it to spell two non-adjacent sentences into a more beautiful one. I don’t want it to make up a sentence that sounds like me but I didn’t say it at all. Because my name is hanging on this wall, relying on readers’ trust in me. There can be no beautiful but false sentences.
So, I added a word-for-word comparison: every sentence picked out by the AI must be verified by going back to the original text to confirm that it really exists and was really written by me before it is allowed to be hung on the wall. During the process, he really wanted to secretly rewrite a few sentences, but he was blocked and the original sentences were returned to him. In the end, there are more than 300 sentences left, each of which is worthy of your reading the original text for comparison.
I care about this very much. Because no matter how powerful the tool is, whether you know how to use it and whether you dare to be responsible for the results ultimately comes back to the person. AI can be a pen, but the person holding the pen must be you.
When it comes to using AI to assist writing and maintaining a sense of proportion, this is actually not just about persistence when making products. If your work requires more rigorous research and writing, writing papers, doing research, and producing content that can withstand testing, then “how to make AI help without crossing the line” is a skill that requires methods. I organized this set of mental methods into a practical workshop:
In “AI Empowers Academic Research and Writing Practical Workshop (opens in a new tab)”, I will take you to truly use AI in key aspects of research and writing: from document crawling, argument polishing to final revision, while maintaining the rigor and integrity that academics should have, and letting AI amplify your expertise instead of fabricating it for you.

The process is never smooth.
I know many people think that Vibe Coding means saying a word to AI and things will come out. Actually no, it’s more like bringing in a new colleague who is very smart but needs to get used to.
On the way to making this wall, I stepped on a lot of small holes. Once, the font of a golden sentence was quietly changed to boldface, and it just lost the bookishness when reading. I stared at it for a while before I realized something was wrong, so I went back and changed it to serif font. There was a statistical program that silently malfunctioned and missed information after readers jumped between pages. I described the problem to the AI and it was fixed over and over again. The sharing button was originally just a cold “copy and share” button. Later, I felt it was not intuitive enough, so I simply broke it into a row of icons: Facebook, Threads, X, and copy.
These back and forths are what they really are. The point is not to get it perfect the first time, but whether you have the patience to fix it right one by one. This is exactly the same as writing: good articles are not written, but revised.
to the moment when it can be seen and shared
When this wall finally grew into what I had imagined, I was a little moved.
You can hang out at underline. You will see more than 300 sentences that I have underlined, arranged by topic; you can search or press “randomly underline a sentence” to try your luck; click on any sentence and you will see a clean single sentence page with an automatically generated sharing card. You can easily post it to the community, and each sentence has a thread leading back to the article where it was born.
One afternoon, something that originally existed only in my thoughts came online.
Things Vibe Coding Taught Me
After finishing this wall, I gained another level of understanding of Vibe Coding.
It is not meant to replace your judgment, but to amplify it. In this whole process, I am still making every decision: whether to be refined or to have more, where to draw the threshold of quality, what looks wrong, and which sentence is not true enough. AI is responsible for implementing these decisions quickly and well. What I save is the energy of how to do it, and what I gain in exchange is more space for what to do and why.
In other words, AI does not make me less like me, but rather gives me more freedom to do things that only I can do.
If you think of AI as a glowing toy, it can only bring you warmth for three minutes; if you think of AI as a reliable assistant, it will start to remove the stones that have been weighing on your shoulders for many years.
So, you can also start
Actually, I probably know what you are thinking. Because in the past few months, I have been asked the same question repeatedly in many public speaking and corporate training situations: “Vista, this sounds great, but I am alone and don’t know where to start?”
I would like to give you a belief that I like very much: You don’t have to wait until you fully understand it before you start. Use it first, and inspiration will come out by itself.
You don’t need to become an engineer to be qualified to do it. All you need is a problem you really want to solve, a little patience to make your thoughts clear, and start today instead of later.
