Today’s headline news should be that the publicly funded COVID-19 vaccine reservation platform suddenly opened in the morning, allowing people over the age of 18 to register their wishes on the platform. As soon as many people heard the news, they immediately went to the 1922 website or the National Health Insurance Autopass App to register, which obviously caused a traffic jam in the system!
Political Affairs Councilor [Tang Feng] (https://health.tvbs.com.tw/medical/328858) recently pointed out that people over 50 years old and those over 18 years old in category 9 can go to the appointment platform to register their wishes. People can make an appointment by receiving a mobile phone text message from July 13 to 15, and get vaccinated as soon as July 16.
Early in the morning, I received many friends enthusiastically forwarding this message on LINE alone. However, the problem was that the system was seriously stuck and I could not log in even at 11 a.m. The sudden decision to allow people over the age of 18 to register for vaccination on the platform may seem like a boon to the public at first glance, but the whole thing lacked planning and the system was not prepared to handle such a large amount of traffic.
No wonder some people criticized. Previously, the government clearly stated that it would wait until the 9th and 10th categories of people are almost vaccinated before it will open the door for other people to make appointments and register. Why did it suddenly announce today that people over 18 years old can also register their wishes? Moreover, Taiwan has a large number of people aged between 18 and 50, and there are not so many vaccines available for vaccination. No wonder people are questioning this mess!
I finally connected to the 1922 website, but the Health Insurance Autotoll app crashed again. Let’s not talk about the problem of an instant increase in traffic. What’s even more funny is that no matter what age it is now, the logo of the App that was built with so much public money before is actually deformed when loading. In addition, the usage experience is so bad. Isn’t this all too exaggerated?
Thinking about it, I spent most of the morning just to get the OTP authentication code from the Health Insurance Autotoll App. What a waste of time. After lunch, I wanted to see if the Internet explosion has improved, but I still can’t access it! It wasn’t until 1:53 pm that I successfully completed the vaccination appointment. It was really frustrating!
In any case, at this moment I can finally let go of a stone in my heart. Next, just wait for the evening of July 16 to get the first dose of vaccine.
