Speaking of Blog (Blog), you may think of the former unknown website or the current Pixnet, or else it is WordPress, the world’s largest blog system. Of course, there are other blogging platforms now, such as Fanggezi, Blogger, Medium or Matters, etc., which also have many active users.
But I guess you are thinking:
Now that we have entered the era of social media, shouldn’t we publish our life records or various opinions on Facebook or Instagram? Why spend time running a blog now?
Well, what are the benefits of running a blog? Can it really help yourself build a personal brand? I think the answer is yes. I want to tell you that there are at least three benefits that can support you in running your own blog instead of just posting on Facebook or Instagram.
First of all, the first benefit of starting to write articles on a blog is that it can train your output ability. Many people want to build a successful personal brand and get a lot of publicity and exposure, but don’t know where to start? I believe that if you want to be discovered or noticed, the first step is to train yourself to provide unique perspectives and value.
In fact, we input a large amount of information into our brains every day from newspapers and magazines, the Internet or social media, and even public places such as convenience stores, MRT stations, and offices. But maybe because everyone is in a hurry, they rarely have the opportunity to filter and filter this information to extract information that is useful to them. Just think about it, isn’t this a pity?
If you start writing well now, you’ll have a good reason to be honest with yourself and your readers. Of course, I also know that some friends will feel that their writing is not good. In fact, this can be improved and strengthened through deliberate practice (if you need someone to provide step-by-step assistance, you are welcome to sign up for the “Vista Writing Companion Program”).
After setting up a blog, you should not only write down what you see and hear in your daily life, but also be able to output your thoughts in a systematic way. In this way, not only can you train your logical thinking and communication skills, but you can also convey valuable information to readers and friends, which can be said to complement each other.
Secondly, the second benefit of running a blog is that you can speak out and create influence. Many friends think that as long as they open a [fan page] (https://www.facebook.com/writing.vc) on Facebook, they can promote it. This may be too beautiful an imagination. Firstly, the reach rate of current fan pages is low. It is not known how many people will browse it? Secondly, if a clear and effective intention to visit cannot be established, most netizens will not actively follow even the fan pages of well-known brands. For example, how long has it been since you visited a 7-11 or Starbucks coffee fan page?
The benefits of establishing a blog are obvious. It is like having your own home court, just like a professional baseball or basketball player. You can play to your heart’s content in a home court that you are familiar with and show your [value proposition] (https://www.vistacheng.com/2020/05/value-proposition-design.html); you don’t have to worry all the time that you will be subject to various limitations or regulations like using other social media. Not to mention, you don’t have to worry that the fan page you have worked so hard to build will disappear!
In the past, I have told students in class: “If you want to be seen by the outside world, you must first be seen by Google!” If you have a blog, you can create your own digital footprint and let potential customers actively find you through search engine optimization (SEO) and other methods.
If you like reading, you might as well share a lot of [reading experiences] (https://www.vistacheng.com/search/label/%E8%AE%80%E6%9B%B8%E5%BF%83%E5%BE%97) on your blog like me, or recommend a list of books worth reading. If you like cooking, you might as well share a lot of allusions or cooking information about cuisines from various countries on your blog, or share your exclusive recipes with everyone!
Having said that, as long as you continue to share and record, your blog will naturally have a chance to be included in search engines such as Google, Bing or Baidu, and then be noticed by more friends with similar interests. In this way, blogging can not only help you become an expert recognized by the online world, but also have the opportunity to [publish a book] (http://bit.ly/vista-content-marketing-book), endorse or launch [online teaching courses] (https://hahow.in/cr/content-power) in the future!
Finally, the third benefit of running a blog is that you can make friends with your peers. Everyone is usually busy with work and life, and they actually hope to find partners with similar ideas and interests. When you start running a blog seriously, you will have an opportunity to express yourself, break through the original stratosphere, and get to know more like-minded people from all over the world.
Well, after listening to the above three benefits of running a blog, are you eager to try it?
I know that there are many friends around me who want to build a personal brand, but they have a common problem, that is, they don’t know where to start? If you have similar questions, I would like to suggest that you first take inventory of your interests and expertise, start by running your own blog, share your work and life details through writing, and then convey valuable opinions to the outside world.
