Starting in 104 of the Republic of China, on Saturdays and Sundays, I attended open classes given by lecturers from well-known companies at my own expense. Learn presentations, storytelling, creativity, communication and expression, presentation skills, team leadership, TTT instructor training…

The journey of cross-border learning opened up my imagination and changes to higher levels of teaching. Today, I would like to talk to you about my path of evolution and further study.

How to choose a course

1. Understand your own needs: First of all, you need to know what is the purpose of paying for classes at your own expense? It’s about learning knowledge, teaching methods, expanding social circles, and finding the stratosphere…. Taking my own “Presentation” as an example, I hope that the audience listening to my speech will feel like they are enjoying a feast and can smoothly convey my teaching philosophy. Just like my teaching, if students don’t want to learn, I will work hard to improve myself to make them want to learn, instead of complaining that students don’t learn. The course and lecture lecturers must take full responsibility. This is what I expect from myself.

2. Generally speaking, the description below the course introduction is about 100 words, praising the teacher for teaching very well, which is not very helpful to me. I will look for long pieces of experience to read, ranging from as little as 800 words to as many as 1,000 words. The more diligent the students are and the harder they go through learning, the more they will want to sort it out in words, and the more they will write. I will mention the teacher’s teaching methods, the learning process, reflect on my past blind spots, see my own changes, and even see the transformation of students in the same period. Their growth will become the learning indicators I desire.

3. Dominant [Professional Lecturer] (https://www.lecturer.info/): After ten years of hard work, professional lecturers can clearly and specifically point out the students’ problems, rather than simply saying I think you need to improve. This is the key reason why I choose high-priced courses.

You usually have to go to work and take care of children during holidays. If you just spend time in class, it will take a lot of time to digest when you come back. It is better to directly choose a professional lecturer in this field to directly open up the two channels of Ren and Du and shorten the learning time.

• The “Speech and Communication Workshop” by Dr. Tsai Yicheng and Dr. Yang Sidi was my inspiration for speaking, and it showed me the different levels of speaking.

• Xie Wenxian (Brother Xian)‘s “Speak out the influence” allows me to give a smooth speech without the need for slides.

• Wang Yongfu (Brother Fu)‘s “Professional Presentation Power” taught me that the core of a presentation is the content of the speech, not the slides.

• Teacher Lin Mingzhang (MJ)’s “TTT Top Teaching Aids and Materials Design” allowed me to produce the “Yueyang Tower” teaching aids on the day of course acceptance.

• Teacher Lin Mingzhang (MJ) “Super Numbers Power” not only teaches financial statements, but also uses teaching aids to the fullest. If teaching financial statements can be so user-friendly and easy to understand, why can’t our school’s curriculum content not be able to do so?

• Teacher Liu Gongfu’s “Super Innovation” taught me how to think with creative cards.

• Mr. Zhou Shuolun’s “Innovation School” invites innovative leaders in the corporate world to share with us face to face and experience the process of innovation from scratch.

The high time cost and high opportunity cost opened a window for myself to connect with the outside world.

Key points of observation in the course

The level of students in the open class courses varies. Some students have a strong foundation and some have zero foundation.

As a teacher, I hope that in addition to learning the course content, I can also think about how to integrate the Chinese language major, create a class management atmosphere, and use teaching techniques to improve learning effectiveness, instead of simply zeroing in on myself.

Before choosing a course, I will make the following ten observations.

1. How teachers teach lessons: There are hundreds of ways to teach lessons. The better students absorb and do the better, the more effective the teaching will be. For example, after reading Teacher Fu Ge’s recommendations on how to teach openings, I will hope that I can achieve his level of proficiency.

2. Teacher’s teaching style and charm: Also teaching presentations, Zhang Yiting (EVA) has a strong aura, cold-faced smiler [Liu Cangshuo] (https://www.facebook.com/andyliuonline), Yang Kunren is persuasive, and [Breathing Cat] (https://www.facebook.com/fucicat) is elegant and comfortable. This is also the charm of each lecturer.

3. Teacher communication skills: Build the profession on popular communication, so that students in different fields can understand it, follow it, and apply it across borders, instead of leaving students with more doubts or just thinking that the lecturer is great. A truly great teacher makes students feel great after studying hard.

4. Teacher curriculum planning and arrangement: The rigorous curriculum can be divided into three parts, before class, during class and after class. Pre-class homework helps the lecturer understand the starting behavior of the students. If the pre-class planning is done well, it will be easier to have a sense of surprise during the class and feel that the course is tailor-made. During the class, the teaching content is taught in depth and applied flexibly, allowing students to practice on the spot and feel the difference before and after transformation, which will be a great enjoyment. Some instructors will provide independent exercises or give personal feedback after class, which can make students feel more evolved.

7. How does the teacher give feedback and give suggestions: This item immediately shows the teaching skills. Feedback is not just about saying what is good and what is not good about you? Everyone can criticize, it’s nothing unusual. Being able to explain the specific practices, the reasons why corrections are needed, and where to practice and how to practice better can make students feel as if they have been plated with gold.

9. The importance of voice expression: The way of speaking determines the stability of the student’s concentration. If the tone of voice is consistent, students will feel comfortable and comfortable in the initial class. 10. Design and use of teaching aids: Teaching aids are definitely one of the highlights of the course. I have the following three observations to provide reference for the excellent administrative team that is very helpful to students:

1. Handouts: There is a note column for copying notes, and blank spaces for filling in the lecturer’s key points. The cover also has the students’ names printed on it. The handouts are no longer handouts, but an exclusive notebook with my own name. How can I not cherish this unique essence of the course?

2. Meals: The lunch box is not greasy. If you need to discuss homework at noon, the lunch box is also convenient and quick to prepare. Afternoon snacks are for students to replenish their physical strength. Afternoon tea allows the brain-burning courses to be satisfied with food, so that the brain can produce more powerfully.

3. Exclusive gifts: What kind of course gifts can be sent to your heart? Combined with courses to strengthen after-school learning, such as: postcards, playing cards, coffee bags, notebooks, tablecloths, etc., they are not only dazzling, but also gifts that turn abstract concepts into entities.

Since taking the open class course, I have given many lectures in school and tried my best to follow the administrative model of the open class. I also learned how to handle details from my assistant Ariel.

Tracy, the person in charge of the national training company, said: “Good administration is such that students cannot feel their existence.” However, most of the training in the public service system often ignores the charm of administration, which is a pity.
