Last night, we held the second gathering of the book club “Open Leadership” at the Bohemian Coffee on Chang’an West Road. I, Jun Bai and Lide will share the second chapter of the book “Open Leadership” “Ten Elements of Open Leadership”.

The author Li Xialin starts from this chapter and cuts into the topic, talking about how corporate organizations can promote open leadership. In a meeting, she asked the participants which companies consider themselves open, and discussed the open genes of three companies with different natures: Mozilla Foundation, Twitter and IDEO. Later, she mentioned her experience of visiting a naval ship and discovered the contradictory complex between openness and closure.

Book club classmate [Kaisen] (https://www.facebook.com/kaisen2000) also mentioned that business executives often face a choice when facing openness issues. Should they “open up first and then there will be trust” or “open up only when there is trust”? This topic may not have a standard answer, but it has triggered many interesting discussions. The team leader Harlem also cited examples encountered within the company to illustrate some considerations of openness and non-openness.

The author believes that to successfully promote open leadership, ten important elements must be paid attention to. Next, please refer to my briefing!
